I remain both puzzled and amazed at the Seattle Police Chief and why she hasn't acted to shut this down herself. Here's a little known fact that often gets exploited. Mayor's are not Law Enforcement Officers, unlike Governors who are the States Chief Law Enforcement Officer. Mayors are technically not in the chain of command with regard to law enforcement at all. All they do is pay the bills. Mayors are not supposed to be determining which laws to enforce or not. And technically you're not supposed to be able to fire a Police Chief or Police Officers for enforcing the law. That's kind of the point. This isn't true. Downtown, the International District and the U district are far worse. Pioneer Square is also somewhere you do not want to be when the sun goes down. Pine and Pike from Broadway down really aren't bad and there's plenty of people out at night since there are so many bars on those streets. The sketchiest place on Capitol Hill at night would probably be Broadway, especially around QFC.

Most of the high value home are located at the end of Broadway, away from Capitol Hill. Or East, In the Madison Park area. Capitol Hill is mostly condos and apartments.

Well, it seems to be the "play" to allow the leftists to sperg out as much as possible w/o threat of actual warfare for a few reasons.
a) Strength - Allowing Trump to show a display of force would be bad - it'd make him look like a problem solver.
b) Petty - The optics of unruliness and "It's just a protest bruh" whilst normies are on strict lockdown, frustrates Trump's "economic growth" election stand.
c) Cuntish - Durkin et al's "What, are you afraid of a little Democracy?" - they're playing the protests as democratic no matter how violent they get. Hence the constant, overused "But they're so peaceful!" trope.
d) Psychological - The optics of "In Trump's America, people MUST violently protest because this is how bad it is".
e) Stupid - They want police/counter protesters to fuck up and murder a bunch of nogs to make a statement, see above.

This is a similar tactic (albeit on a smaller scale) to what communist traitor Daniel Andrews is trying in Victoria, Australia. Though he has more clearly stated, nefarious goals to achieve.

I'd agree with this. Elements of the central district can get shady and some will lump that into Capitol Hill wrongly too. My opinion/agreement on that all predates Chop though which is clearly completely unsafe to go through at night.
