How can you say his YT content is killing his sales the day after his current IGG campaign passes $1 MILLION in sales? The other CG'ers are floundering because they lack the YT presence of Frog. The other's success is only because Frog promotes them on his channel. He's a lot of things but producer of bad content is not one. That's his niche.

ComicsGate failed to change the mainstream industry as far back as 2017 but certainly by spring of 2018 it was obvious. Then the movement shifted to the idea of becoming "the change they wanted to see" with Meyer, FROG and a movement putting out their own books to outshine the big two.

With some noteable exceptions that has been a colossal failure. No one cares about CyberFraud other than the dwindling pack of paypig cultists that religiously tune in to EVS's bloviation hour. Everyone else is trying to survive on his table scraps.

Talented people who walked away or were pushed out of the fold have done alright for the most part but they won't be changing the world either.

The "culture war" against mainstream SJW's ruining comics failed utterly long ago. ComicsGate and ex-CG is now just a small strange corner in a dying industry. There won't be a renaissance when all the woke losers who've lost their Big Two and indy gigs move to KickStarter either. Some will do okay but most will fail and the ones who succeed won't make a big enough dent to revive comics either.

Maybe Ethan is on the right track. At least he's cashing in by squeezing his pigs for as much cash short term as possible before the popcorn fart that is what's left of the comics industry dissipates with the gentle breeze it's to fragile to endure.

Nobody is gonna "save comics" unless they figure out a way to get them in the hands of children cheaply and that's just not going to happen.

Ethan added the toy to pad his numbers and his ego. He wants to beat OotS and he'll keep adding products to the campaign until he does. The funny thing is he'd probably make more money if he did the toys as a separate campaign but then he couldn't add those numbers to his Rect Planet numbers.

Ethan structured the toy offering so that people have to order again separately instead of adding it on to an existing order. This is to pad his backer number and so he can squeeze more out of S&H charges. Ethan couldn't give a shit about his customers. This is about ego and squeezing the dumbest paypigs in comics.

These are the same people who defended Wenger's Ziploc mailer, Hicks' StarWars flyer and Post's postage stamp layouts.

Well he is a good snake oil salesman, but most of his sales are usually fueled by outrage marketing or people buying the highest tiers just to bump the numbers or makes overcharged fraudulent merchandises. Most of the customers won't see their book until quarter 2 of 2021.

yeah, I’ve been keepin up. Drama as usual. Now comicsgate has split into 5 or 6 different factions with 3 of the more minor factions fighting over the CG trademark, like it actually sells books anymore. I was just disappointed with Post’s latest book and felt like I should comment on it.

Launched by "alazmat arts" (~650 subscribers) Roadwarrior Drake hems closely to the concept of Frog's Cyberfrog in that both characters are throwbacks from the 90s who are anthropomophic edgelord protagonists that beat up bad people. And as Cyberfrog: Rekt Planet has hit one million dollars in crowdfunding, the logic that some of that success could be bestowed on Roadwarrior Drake is hard to deny, if you remove the idea of craft or ability from the equation.

The trailer opens "endorsements" from random cheap online prostitutes, like a nameless dumpy black woman in a cocktail dress and Nick Rekeita, that are captured with a smartphone because the creator does not know how to capture video feed any other way. It then progresses to an animated sequence that cannot be described, only experienced, set to a poem written by Rosetta Allen with guitars by Dark Gift Comics and vocals by some random girl gamer. Something of the production process of the comic is laid out, as inked work is torn out of a 4 x 6" sketchbook and then loaded onto a scanner.

I've been struggling for a term to describe this group of very special individuals but this has made me settle on the term "Cargo Cult Comicsgate".

They also had a launch stream, which deserves something of a writeup of its own as alazmat inexplicably invited Testefy-HD with "Soy Rage" in tow, who proceeded to immediately hijack the show and demand the host share insulting memes targerted towards Frog and Anna (which Alazmat accedes to) while screaming over everyone, taking the piss out of the trailer as it plays, attacking the fellow panelists, so on. Alazmat's one move is a low-grade SJW bait about how he's a "marginalized person" and anything against him should be taken as racist that he falls back on several hundred times, but Testefy only respond to this by agreeing with his assessment and doubling down by cracking jokes about how the host/project runner is a stupid mexican.

A truly exceptional campaign launch.

It's got a heavily stripped-down high school notebook feel, but it does manage to replicate a cartoonishly one-dimensional 90's amalgamation that passes for the CG aesthetic nowadays. Sketch Live 6/30/2020 - The episode where Sketch Therapy forms a team to fight Warcampaign and Liamoz Hennycuck

On the eve of Cyberfrog: Rekt Planet reaching one million dollars in raised funds it should be a time for celebration, but not all sits well with Sketch. Having hours to reflect furiously about the infiltration of ComicArtistPro Secrets chat mods by Liamoz simps and the infiltration of Liam's channel by Warcampaign mods and the infiltration of Warcampaign by Jon del Arroz/Nerkish Discord, a clear solution no doubt started to form in Sketch's mind that this was a problem that ran so deep not even he could solve alone.



Assembling a squad of "J-Money"/Justin McClure, Deadwood Dale and Novablast, the stream starts off relatively normal with Sketch giving his own take on current affairs and the riots raging across America, sharing the reasoning for his support for those resisting the rioters and inferring his own desire to unload an assault rifle into a human wall of these so-called protestors engaging in property damage. So far so good. The topic of the show segues into Sketch's designs regarding the future of his channel, noting the slow progress of his sub count versus other and his desire to start putting out 5-10 minute topical videos "like all those other fuckers are doing" for the purpose of channel growth. It's not explicitly stated, Sketch is noting Ro's outreach efforts on the Warcampaign youtube and is aiming to do the same to form a counterweight to WC.

If the money that comes in from the toy sales counts toward the 'biggest crowdfunded comic' tally, then Spawn's entire campaign counts as every order came with a toy AND a comic.

Order of the stick was just one comic book. REKT is like 6 or 8 or 10 comics, plus toys.

As well, do the math, CF Bloodhoney made 1.25 million. He spread all the covers out over different campaigns. He put those all together in a SINGLE campaign this time around and STILL hasn't even gotten over 85% of Bloodhoney's total.

A million bucks is a lot of money, nobody doubts that. On it's own, that's a remarkable success. But look at the other books which actually did 40-50-60% better on their second time out. Malin, Miller,TenNapel... Cyberfrog 2 isn't the success issue 1 was yet. And if he's adding TOYS to get him there... Well, then he's going to have to beat Spawn to claim he's #1.
