I don't know where they get this idea that white people "can't" talk about racism. We do talk about it and discuss it, but we're constantly, persistently gas-light by people because our experiences, well, duh, don't marry up with those of people who aren't white

What i hate about Shapiro is that he's a TPA "we'll staple college degrees to HB-1s" grifter, pro-Zionism, and a Hollywood conservative gunning for Tucker's job. But shit like this i agree with him on.

I realized that after posting (Its morning and I blame my lack of caffeine intake) but still felt like shitting on that stupid woman.

The current climate reminds me of an experience I had in high school.

There was a class where we were talking about heritage and family history and all that jazz, and the PoC students told their stories about where their families came from with a ton of pride.

And then the discussion shifted to the white folk...Irish heritage, German heritage, French heritage, yada yada yada. And one black girl in the class spoke up and said, verbatim, "Psst, that's just all white. You all the same!".

It was one of those moments where in my mind, I thought "What if I said to a Latino person that Mexican, Brazilian, and Peruvian were all the exact same thing cause "You all Spanish!" or what if I said a Nigerian, an Egyptian, and a Zimbabwean were all the same because "You all Black!"? That wouldn't have gone over too well.

Fortunately, the teacher (white guy...so he's the fucking devil) responded to her by saying "Not to them they aren't all the same. There are unique histories and cultures to all those countries". She kind of gave the "whatever" look and that was the end of it, but that always stayed with me as I noticed people were being encouraged to embrace their heritage and where they came from, but there was a sentiment of it being wrong or it was offensive if the whities did it. It was very odd.

I also shudder to think what would happen if that same discussion took place in school today. Thank God I graduated when I did.

It would cause a normie uprising, it is one of the most hallowed places in American history and culture. It is the bloodiest American battle in history, and if was a war of its own with just Union deaths it would the be the 6th deadest war, if you count Confiderates it gets bumped to 5th. It is holy land in the American mythos and is a part of American identity, if you desiccate it moderates, and people who "Supported your cause" will be calling for your heads.
