To get back on topic I was too optimistic to think that media would use riots as an excuse to ditch their narrative and say that restrictions being lifted are okay now. Instead they went with some retarded "somehow protests don't spread the disease but everything else does", as if the bat AIDS was a bioweapon all along that can read your thoughts and won't infect you if your reason for being outside is Righteous. I'm sick and tired of being jerked around.

Supposedly the explanation for how protests magically don't spread the Wu Flu is that they are outdoors, and the disease is easier spread indoors.

But statistics and data are all bullshit, you cant trust them. The disease is spreading and masks dont protect you but they stop you getting others sick. If you use statistics you are wrong because the information is bad but were seeing more cases so we need to shut everything down for another year. I heard from a friend of mine who works in a hospital that ALL the ICU beds were full of coronavirus patients, the statistics the hospitals present to the public are wrong!

This was an actual argument my coworkers presented today.

The whole thing is a giant shit show, and anyone who trusts (((SCIENCE))), The News media, The UN (remember they are the WHO's bosses) or any talking head that says anything other than "We don't fucking know, and you can't live your life in fear because you don't know something." is a complete fucking retard.

They will fully believe anything the WHO says while simultaneously stating anything out of China cannot be trusted. They are fully ingrained in the doublethink, and it's a PITA because they dont STFU about the fucking virus and politics at work.

Oh also they are fully on the defund the police train too, because statistics are all racist and "all police interactions in NYC turn out violent" said with a straight face.

We're getting a hell of a lot better at treating it, which I assume is contributing.

Symptoms of hypoxemia with no dyspnea? Hit them with the US. The lung damage shows up on a sono sometimes. Start immediately with dexamethasone even before the RT-PCR test comes back. Get 'em on enoxaparin, monitor SpO2. etc.

Proning + HFNC + dexamethasone is doing all our heavy lifting at the moment with a little sidecar of enoxaparin to prevent PE/ischemic stroke. Invasive mechanical ventilation is our absolute last resort for people who desat on HFNC.

In NYC they didn't know about any of this stuff and admin apparently banned HFNC so a lot of patients died needlessly.

edit: oh and monitoring GFR bid. not hanging fluids on everyone. renal failure is real.

What is the normal without Corona?

Texas stated their ICUs were 97% full, but they are typically between 85-90% on any given normal day, so the 97% number was a bit misleading. There were undoubtedly more hospitalizations then normal, but it wasnt the world ending apocalypse they were predicting.

There was also the issue of they were using 97% of their NOMINAL capacity, not using any of their emergency capacity or alternative sites. Texas is still nowhere near italy levels.
