I want you to watch this 7 minute interaction with the head of the protesters who were blocking the road to the Mt Rushmore event. Just listen to the amount of buzzwords and copy-paste rhetoric he uses to try and guilt-trip his way through a "negotiation" with the police.
The 3 vans whose tires had been slashed, blocking the roadway, are being hauled away by wreckers as he's blustering here. He has no power, no leverage, no negotiating position, and he's just bullshitting his way through so that he can go back to his people and claim he's a great warrior who negotiated a Big Thing.
Now watch how he sells this "negotiation" to his motley gaggle of followers.
I could do an entire lecture on these two clips; I may actually do a new thread just to cover it. There are so many lessons to be drawn, about desperation, strength, false bravado, and falsity. These clips should be taught in
actual business negotiation classes. The title of this chapter: "How Losers Negotiate (When They Want To Pretend They Won)"
Notice the line of cops patiently waiting for him to go through the motions to pretend he's a big strong warrior, bravely resisting and putting up some kind of a fight. They're like parents sitting calmly in a chair, waiting for a toddler to finish throwing a tantrum on the floor and holding their breath.
A few minutes later, the Unicorn Riot streamer
lets slip the real reason this whole charade was going on: to delay the Trump event, prevent people from getting there so the crowd looks smaller.
Performative. All of it. There's not a single ounce of real protest going on here.
