Fanmade Pokémon Designs (Fakemon) - Tracers, garbage designers, and of course, furries

Counterpoint - Basculin exists.
I don't mind Basculin, looking into them they are a mix of pirahna and bass (since bass are found around some major cities in America, and the gen 5 games were based around american locales mostly), I only hated them in game due to how irritating they could be to catch. The two pokemon I have issues with from gen 5 are a mix of design and the fact that nothing was done about them in later games.

Alomomola and Bouffalant. It bugs me that they look like evolutions to already existing pokemon (Luvdisc and Tauros respectively), but have zero connection to either. They could have even been rebranded as regional variants once that came out, but nope, still nothing.

The only ones that look remotely decent here is the lobster and the regional Gothorita (though the pink color could be a bit too similar in brightness to the purple skin)
What the hell is that truck/tank/hippo looking thing? It barely resembles a Pokemon.

Why is Machamp brown!? They could've just made him a darker grey, but here he just looks... like a man.
Humanoid pokemon are usually never brown/beige for reasons, you know. They're Pokemon, not superpowered humans. That's why the animalistic/nonhuman traits are there.

That hippo thing looks straight out of Mega Man X.
The ones in the first pic honestly aren't that bad, but they do leave a lot to be desired. The Eeveelution in particular looks nothing like it came from Eevee. Also, what is the roulette blob in the top right supposed to be? It has a crown and pink coloring like a female Jellicent, but it also looks like a dessert of some kind?

Reminder that someone said these are better than the originals.
I mean, I really like the Typhlosion and Feraligator redesigns, but the originals are just too iconic. If these were like special variants that were centered around prehistoric times? That'd be kinda dope.

Guess I'm just a bit skeptical on redesigns.
And while we're on redesigns, how about gijinkas as well, unless that's "SJW Art Thread" material?
Since when was Mega Gallade's arm rainbow? Aren't the blades on both sides? Good art, but these are seriously overdesigned.

I don't know about you, but I think these look fucking sick.

Would "Poképasta" characters count as Fakemon*? The community still exists and it's both edgy and pretty exceptional.

*For those that do not known, Poképasta is a sub-section of the Pokémon fanbase that focuses on creating creepypastas surrounding the Pokémon games. The mentioned became very popular as a result of writers creating fake screenshots and doctored images to give a feel of "this is real and here's proof" to their work. If anyone was (unfortunate enough to be) into creepypasta at the beginning of the 2010s they may know about Lost Silver to give an example.

I'm only asking because there's a few "classics" that are just as dumb as some of the pioneering creepypastas of the decade, like Pokémon Dead Channel, which has an fanbase around it to the point that videos like this exist.
I could talk about sparklingdemon all day, because they unornically made a feminist Poképasta.

I'd say they count as "Poke-OCs", in a way Fakemon if they're different enough from the source material.

>"Pokepastas"

Don't speak the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written!

The MMX looking hippo is a regional variant of hippowdon and the roulette looking mon is the evolution of the regional variant of minchino

I like the concept behind the Typhlosion and Feraligatr lines, but they could use some work. The Feraligatr redesign could probably work better as a standalone Pokemon if it was tweaked to make it less similar to the original. The Croconaw redesign is pretty cute though.
On the other hand, the Meganium line, especially the final stage, is just abhorrent. Who thought those tiny ass heads looked acceptable?
