A lot of people have noticed the similarities between BLM and organized religion, and pointed out that BLM is like a cult going mainstream and taking over society. I've been rereading a lot of books I've read since college to try and make sense of today, and saw something which articulated a point I've mentioned several times, that the rise of BLM is like the rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire.

Peter Brown is an historian who has written extensively on Late Antiquity--the fall of the Roman Empire, and the subsequent period. In his book The World of Late Antiquity I saw some things which very much reminded me of what we're seeing now, and the possible outcome of what is happening. Trigger warning, it's a bit long:

"At the end of the fourth century, the temples of the gods had survived in most great cities and in the surrounding countryside. After Constantine, they were partly 'secularized'; but they continued to be visited, and they were respected as public monuments by cultivated townspeople, pagan and Christian alike, rather like the beautiful cathedrals of some Communist states. To many bishops, however, they were a source of 'infection' to their congregations. To the monks, they were the fortresses of the enemy, the devil.
<SNIP>
From Mesopotamia to North Africa, a wave of religious violence swept town and countryside: in 388 the monks burnt a synagogue at Callinicum near the Euphrates; at the same time they terrorized the village-temples of Syria; in 391 the patriarch of Alexandria, Theophilus, called them in to 'purge' the city of the great shrine of Serapis, the Serapeum. Bands of monastic vigilantes, led by Scheundi of Atripe patrolled the towns of Upper Egypt, ransacking the houses of pagan notables for idols. In North Africa, similar wandering monks, the "Circumcellions', armed with cudgels called 'Israels', stalked the great estates, their cry of 'Praise be to God' more fearful than the roaring of a mountain lion. In 415, the Egyptian monks shocked collected opinion by lynching a noble Alexandrian lady, Hypatia.

Paganism, therefore, was brutally demolished from below. For the pagans, cowed by this unexpected wave of terrorism, it was the end of the world. 'If we are alive,' wrote one, 'then life itself is dead.'"

Replace religions temples with Wendy's, Targets, Confederate statues, replace "bands of monks" with "protestors", replace Bishops with "Social Justice/BLM Activists", replace "great estates" with Ken and Karen's house, replace 'Praise be to God' with 'No Justice, No Peace!' and you see scenes exactly like today.

And of course, the national leaders and politicians kowtow to the movement:
"In 390, the emperor Theodosius I massacred the inhabitants of Thessalonica when they lynched their military governor; he nearly did the same to the people of Antioch, when they refused to pay taxes. Yet he congratulated the Christians of Antioch for having taken the law in their own hands in destroying the Serapeum, one of the wonders of the ancient world."

How many leaders are now praising the protestors for toppling statues and destroying priceless art? But when vocal people want the world changed, all you have to do is roll with it and you come out on top:
"The emperor Theodosius committed the bloodbath of Thessalonica, his statues were overturned and pelted by the citizens of Antioch; yet he went down in history as Theodosius 'the Great', the exemplary Catholic monarch. He had aligned himself with the 'grass-roots' movements of the great cities of the empire. At Milan, he bowed dutifully before the bishop, St Ambrose; at Rome he worshiped at the shrine of St Peter and poured money into a magnificent new basilica to St Paul. At Alexandria, he condoned the atrocities of Theophilus. Like the duke of Plaza Toro, Theodosius the Great led his regiment from the rear; he and his court followed, with exceptional sensitivity, the seismic shift that had placed the Christian bishop and the holy man at the head of popular opinion in the nerve-centres of the empire."
KNEEL TO BLM

Like the Twitterati who are tiny in number but controlling the narrative, the actual movers and shakers of the early Christian movement were not at all numerous:
"The monks, of course, were never more than a tiny percentage of the population of the empire. Nevertheless, it was paradoxically just these eccentrics who turned Christianity into a mass religion. They did this largely through their ability to sum up, in their persons, the piety of the average Roman now turned Christian."

The Christian religion in the Roman Empire went from a fringe, literally underground cult to persecuted as it gained traction, to being forced to sacrifice to pagan gods, to being tolerated, and then becoming mainstream. The first Christian emperor, Constantine, was able to favor both Christians and pagans and deal with both professionally. His nephew Julian the Apostate actually tried to bring back paganism. There were debates over removing statues and altArs from places like the Senate house, but the debates could be had.

Theodosius ruled almost 29 years after Julian; but he was only 15 years younger and was in office less time than Julian. Yet he ushered in these changes, divided the empire between two long ruling but ineffective sons who had less power than the clergy. Paganism would eventually be extinguished by the sword, in one of the most brutal and total exterminations of a religion in history. Christians mercilessly converted or killed pagans and when they ran out they started rioting and fighting against each other, arguing theological minutia as more and more sections of the empire were lost to barbarians. I can't help but see the similarities between the changes in Roman society due to Christianity and the changes we are seeing due to BLM, the Social Justice movement, Intersectionality, and Marxism. And I can't help but fear that what happened to the Romans will happen to us.

BLM is a religion; it has sacrifice, praises, hymns, devotionals, chants and faith. You must donate money towards it. Worship is compulsory in society and the workplace. And this is what happens when religions take over a society. You want the playbook for what's next, read about Late Antiquity.
That's actually terrifying.

I got older (lefty) friends with kids that are crazy mad at US public education right now. Corona was the last straw.

One woman is an ex-teacher and left teaching for a corporate job. She explained that her school district only allowed the kids to connect to the school's online teaching portal for 2 hrs per day, due to surgeon general health guidelines for children 'screen time'.

She had to burn all of her PTO and vacation AND take a pay cut in order to work from home, babysitting her kids. However, the admins and teachers (and janitors!) retained full benefits, pension, and pay. Additionally, contracts in her district are being negotiated for a 12% increase -to essentially work less than ever before. This is one of DOZENS of stories. The lefty-adjacent female allies are turning 180' on their Teacher Union brethren. Communism is fun, until you lose your job b/c the teachers won't watch your damn kids.

99% of public education is child warehousing - so the parents can work. If this bullshit continues in the fall, the US public will unanimously vote to disassemble the worst and most expensive education system of all developed nations.

Also-

I believe Brave New World is a better analogy to these days than 1984. Brave New World was more subtle yet used the themes of futurism mixed with hedonism that really feels like this timeline. Just my opinion, though.

Well, Julian the Apostate did try to turn back the clock on Christianity, not by heavy handed persecutions like Diocletian did but disincentivizing Christianity in society and trying to build a more cohesive Pagan 'Church' of sorts. He died in a campaign in Persia though (some say at the hands of one of his own Christian soldiers) and it's hard to say if he would've had any lasting success if he'd lived longer.
My view is that in the modern era, the only regions where leftism of this sort has been countered successfully would be Iran after the revolution or a right wing popular military dictatorship. In Pakistan, the socialist leader Bhutto was kicked out and hanged by a military general he appointed to be his new Chief of Staff. My view is that I primarily don't believe BLM will make it to religon status on the level of Islam or Christianity but if it comes down to that, the only solution is either fight for your culture or be absorbed. There is no coexisting at that point.

These BLM folk only use emotionally charged words and are mostly upper class elites with no principals at all, even the most outspoken niggers in their ranks. They are being protected heavily by corporate America, the deep state and politicians because they are either the children or related in some way to people within the institutions.

Trump will not solve this issue because the GOP are filled with useless cucks. They still are useless cucks crying about why isn't the ADL being happy towards the Republican Party for all it does for Israel. They are a hopeless bunch and change cannot be expected of the old right from the Bush and Reagan days.

The old right is useless and Trump is the emergence of a new right as thanks to the overton window, many people considered left wing bleeding hearts 10 years ago or 20 years are now considered right wing. I am not talking about the alt-right but that there is a new right wing now thanks to Trump turning the GOP into a big tent and they will carry the party forward.

Which is ultimately exactly what Theodosius ended up doing.
I believe that is the ultimate fate of any democracy. Once sufficiently successful, much like a human immune system, the democracy will begin to attack itself from within in the absence of sufficient outside threat.

The biggest difference here is that BLM's supporters are incredibly stupid. I could still see this ending up with BLM getting their own country, and the old USA declaring war like a month later and wiping the new country of the face of the earth, skip the helicopters and go right to mass destruction. The resulting USA would be utterly alien however, culturally and socially, and I doubt that the democracy could survive such actions.
Not surprising. Populations are easier to control when they are less educated. If Harvard wants literacy rates to drop, unschooling is the way to do it.
That's a ridiculous endgame for them though. Dismantle education? That's their biggest source of power and indoctrination. Without education to indoctrinate kids, they'll absorb more from their parents. Even soviet russia didnt abolish education FFS.

I cant imagine they will be able to get public schools on this bandwagon though. The school boards would NEVER allow a state board to take control of the student bodies without one hell of a fight, and charter schools are so strong that any attempt to collectivise education would fail at the first hurdle.

TUCKER. STOP. SHE'S GOT NO LEGS!!!

Edit: Just got to the part where tucker is talking about the middle east war. How long until Tucker is dead? The Military Industrial Complex probably isn't gonna like the highest rated show on TV talking about ending the war on terror. I don't wanna see Tucker die. I hope he lives a long and fulfilling life.

Didn't some guy from TYT talk about skullfucking that neocon GOP dude. Either way, the way it works is rules for thee, not for mee when it comes to these situations.
That was Hasan Piker, Cenk's nepotism hire.
Yeah but he got fired and totally fell out of any semblance of political grace for it because Crenshaw is controlled opposition

AH! You're right. Tell them you will go to a local shop and not corporate. Which BTW is much better than 90% dough Pizza Hut.

My local Mom and Pop pizza joint is CASH ONLY. Has been for ever since I started using it. Way better than any of the national shitty pizza chains. Only change they have made is they do not take cash that's been stuffed in bras, and they prefer notes cos out £5, £10 and £20 notes are wipe clean plastic and easier to keep clean.

Also, Terry Crews ripping into that retard who was all "Oh I don't get why us filling fuck out of each other is to do with equality" is beautiful. It matters cos Black people kill more Black people than any other group, and that includes Police. Perhaps they should take their 1.3 brain cells, pool them, and consider why they have so many negative, unpleasent interactions with the Police and that, is cos they act like feral little shits, accumulate huge criminal records, lash out against Police because they are violent to them cos said criminal recrods mean usually TyShawne and Darqueeshah are facing a lump of serious time if the PoPo come calling

Trump has made us bold, I sure hope Tucker lives a long life was well, retired after a two terms as president and only does a tv show interview once every week or so and goes back to the bowtie and startes shitting on jon stewart. No matter what question he is asked, he talks about jon lebowitz being a miserable pedophile.

Fox News and every other News organization should be look upon as the enemy of the people. I don’t if Tucker Carlson has decent talking points. His overseers allow him to speak them they are there view points and we should be wary of them
I don't really get the hero worship. Tucker talks like a fag and he's rich so why do all of these alt right alpha chads love him so much?

The world has gone mad.

Here's my explanation for how we have landed in Clown World:
  • The Attention Economy and the saturation of online information sources creates a powerful incentive for journalists and social media stars to generate clicks. Those who don't descend into irrelevance and obscurity.
  • The things that generate the most clicks are fear and outrage.
  • Therefore, media outlets start posting Bullshit designed to generate fear and outrage. Truth becomes increasingly irrelevant as Bullshit spreads faster and outcompetes Truth.
  • People who spend the most time online--mentally ill autists--see Bullshit which confirms their suspicions, justifies their failures, encourages their dreams, or helps them throw rocks at their enemies, and thus believe it is real.
  • The mentally ill autists signal boost the Bullshit.
  • Every signal boost is another wave of fear and outrage--and more clicks.
  • Big Data uses this information to create hugboxes for the mentally ill autists designed to keep the clicks coming--by showing them more fear and outrage that they think is real and will keep signal boosting.
  • Sociopaths, narcissists, and con artists see this feedback loop as a way to gain influence for themselves, so they join in and add to the Bullshit. They create entire Bullshit personas designed to generate attention by the same means that Bullshit does.
  • Companies and normal people see this increasing pile of Bullshit and start to believe this is what people actually believe and/or see an untapped market, so they pander to them by selling yet more Bullshit and Bullshit-adjacent products.
  • Truth and sanity ultimately drown in Bullshit.

In summary, we entered Clown World when Bullshit became more profitable than Truth. We will escape from Clown World when this calculus changes.

Here's Tucker's destruction of Duckworth.

Edit: this is the best ever.

Oh wow.
That is how you argue against someone. No need for slurs, lies or made up injustices. Just brutal truth.

I don't really get the hero worship. Tucker talks like a fag and he's rich so why do all of these alt right alpha chads love him so much?

Why do people assume that all conservatives are dumb, uneducated and poor - or that it should be a qualifier for being conservative? That sounds like the kinda shit commie retards would think.

Tucker is willing to argue points that many americans agree with - and cannot speak of without risking their careers and family ties - and articulates his arguments without the autistic screeching that seems ever-present in our lives. A calm port in the storm attracts all ships.

Is this even legal?
View attachment 1434354
i know just because its on the bill it may not necessarily be a law, but surely there's something on the books about having to accept cash as payment.

edit: looked it up apparently it is legal.
one more seasoning in the pot of dystopian nightmare fuel.
In the four years since that was posted NYC passed a law making it illegal to refuse to accept cash so I guess we need a new law stating the obvious.

The actual alt-right feels how the post you quoted feels. People, myself included, love him because he's the only person saying anything close to the truth we all want to say/hear including slaughtering the occasional sacred GOP cow.
