Think about it this way. Instead of a quick death, he'll either die from getting bled out by another inmate, and there's still his teeth which can start to kill him any time now. The slower, more painful the better for him, so I'm glad he won't get the chair since it means he'll get something slower instead.

Infective endocarditis can be give you a brain bleed, swell your extremities to painful masses, or just plain old cause a heart attack. (Necrosis due to ischemia is apparently very painful. I've never had it happen.) IE is likely to occur when rotting teeth and bad hygiene let bacteria enter the bloodstream. The possibilities are endless with those broad, overarching complications! Use your imagination, and have fun!
