These are things Fatty tells Ian to his face in the doc prior to the final fight. When Ian later interviews Robert, it's apparent that he's unstable like Fatty and Fatty's mom both claimed. He's edgy and exaggerating some parts (if not outright lying) to seem like a tough guy, but he still admits to wanting to hurt people and says other things that indicate there is a lot wrong with him. Ian says directly in the video that his goal was to watch these two guys fight because it was the content he liked from Fatty. Regardless of Fatty and Robert dissolving their friendship prior to his arrival, he still haggled to get them to agree on terms, which many people saw as inappropriate when the doc dropped. It is fair to say that he wanted to see them fight for his amusement and it's apparent he's poking fun at them throughout the doc because they are mentally ill, bluntly speaking.

If Ian wasn't "Idubbbz", he'd have been criticized way harder.

It wasn't wholly mean spirited and there were good times in the doc. He even ended on a little "is doing what you love cringe?" moral at the end. However, as some users on his subreddit pointed out at the time, the fluffy things felt like a cop out ultimately because he did make fun of Fatty and co. and his situation as much as he spotlighted him.
