Yes, this is true. Many of the same complications can occur in flu, but to compare the flu to COVID-19 is like comparing a rolling pin to a steam roller and saying “they can both flatten things”. The rate of complications from SARS-CoV-2 infection, especially those resulting in hospitalization, is very, very high.

For my fellow Ohioans, or anyone who's interested, I'll link the state dashboard so you too can see the enormous spike in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths in the counties. The just just horrific numbers that show why Ohio has to have mandated masks everywhere. There's also the CSV file that has the data in it, so you can see just how many cases reported in a day are actually from that day or are just now because reported after three months to pad out the numbers.

I can also only assume that the sudden appearance of a ton of people demanding masks across the entire state has nothing to do with DeWine pay a company that employees microinfluencers called AmplifyOhio. The numbers just don't support it.

In another Friday development, Whitmer announced a donation of personal protective equipment from the Kingdom of Jordan arrived in Michigan. The shipment included overalls, surgical masks and goggles, and a shipment of N95 masks is expected to follow, according to the governor's office.

No problem, I've spent enough time on the internet to know how these things go. Even I forget just how Clown World everything has gotten.

To be fair, Franklin county (Columbus) and Cuyahoga county (Cleveland) do seem to have some issues. Also the two cities with the large protests/riots, Hamilton (Cincinnati) does have some spike in cases, but DeWine's had all of his mobile testing sites there for two weeks, and Cincinnati dealt with is protests/riots quickly and pretty effectively.
