The mods moved to the Voat equivalent, which was dead on arrival. The userbase moved to /r/fatlogic and were tempered by the new content restrictions. There’s still /fit/fph/ threads with some of the same energy.

Fat hate just doesn’t have a home on reddit anymore.

Plenty of the posters in the ALR subs are also engaged in eating disorder subs, which are vehemently anti-fat hate these days also (after reddit similarly culled aggressive ones two years ago) with two broad categories of users: the binge eater using Amber as justification for their marginally better condition and the anorexic/bulimic using her content as triggers for their behaviours.

The mod of the original Amberlynn sub was also modding a body dysmorphia sub, anyone want to place bets as to whether they just couldn’t see their true beautiful body or whether they were actually just fat?

My favorite stories were always the marginally less fat but somehow greatly more virtuous authors crafting elaborate scenarios where they came off as paragons of calorie counting.

There were series that ran into 30+ chapters, people just kept gobbling them up like they were Luna bars on sale. And of course the author either became a skinny legend or somehow couldn't quit being fat because of darth hamburger foiling them/keeping them in the crabpot with the rest of the oompa loompas. It was great.

The longer ones would become so self-referential they were unreadable, as the author flexed the size of the canon they were building. It's always amazing how a tiny bit of attention can so quickly go to peoples heads.

/r/fph and its greentext spinoff /r/talesoffathate were both banned, but fps is still alive (reddit.com/r/fatpeoplestories/) although it is now populated by these sorts of people:

Is this person somehow unaware that people come in different body shapes, and that just because they are not round doesn't mean squat because they're still a major fatass?

Er, they called out some dude for using a "fake picture" and yet she's using a cartoon frog. Is *that* a real picture? Put a real picture up, hypocrite, if it's required on the intarwebz. Like me: for I really *am* Betty White.*

*I am not really Betty White, but I feel she would be quickly tired of the bullshit from these assholes and give them the finger.
