So for a lot of kiwis watching and reading this, the London police used this protest as a means of testing new formations and tactics for future events. The aim is to encourage demonstrations and events going forward to always happen at Hyde Park. The most upcoming event being the Notting Hill Carnival, which has been forcefully relocated for you guessed it, black-on-black crime. Police in question experimented with different formations, how they interact and follow the crowds. Also intentionally try and divert them to select routes, most of which have CCTV and/or clear coverage for above-ground views (Helicopter, phone recordings)
