This is the most likely option. If they're going to ban porn, they're doing a bad job. Their website is filled with obscene, borderline illegal pornography that fetishizes everything from rape to racism to animals.

They did ban 2 rape porn subs, but they're far more ban happy for anything deemed "offensive".
Kind of funny imo; they consider "transwomen aren't women" and "all lives matter" more offensive that saying "I get horny thinking about beating up women" or "I call my black girlfriend a nigger everytime I fuck her"

But what you describe is what 4chan tried to do aswel.
Now you have 4chan, which hosts nsfw stuff and 4channel, which is sfw.
Obviously done in an attempt to get mainstream advertisers on their website for more income. Now given the nature of 4chan it didn't change a thing and I doubt their sfw boards will have normal advertisements anytime soon.
After all, nsfw stuff is not the only reason why no company would advertise on 4chan lol.

But in any case, I can see Reddit following suit. And unlike 4chan, their website doesn't carry any stigma, plus everything is far more compartmentalized through subreddits.
So seperating subreddits based on sfw and nsfw will probably be the next step. Atleast, that seems logical to me. Outright banning all porn? Nah. Remember that Tumblr only did so because newsarticles were popping up about them hosting cp.

A little surprised there's not a death poll for how long it takes for Reddit to finally implode, be bought out, or dissolved into some other corporate amalgam. I'd give it till after the next American presidential elections, since that alone will cause an influx of shit posters who don't give a fuck about being banned and tanking subs. After all, they can't be having those naughty subs with all those naughty shit posts, can they?

I know it works for some people, but the idea of dieting (as in eating specific types of food, not eating at a deficit which I would call “cutting”) just for like a month or two and not sticking to it for life (or a very long time) makes no sense to me. Health is not like money, you can’t save it up for later use, it’s a constant process. Consistently eating better food is not only better for you, it’s easier to maintain, because habits get ingrained unlike when you switch it up all the time.

The bar of entry is only going lower and lower; makes me wonder when we'll see full-on degeneracy on places like Reddit, if not they go full Tumblr on their own site and force a second Reddit to be made for sharing porn and gore.

i used to think the same way but then realized that every dollar these r*dditors send these women is one less dollar spent on plastic Star Wars Funko Pops or war hammer figurines. Odds are the money these women make are going straight into their mouths and veins, but I assume some of them are making the lives of their four single parent children they live with. R*dditors are subhuman filth and deserved to be scammed out of every red cent they can.

if one findom can get a reddit pay pig to put her kid through college it’s a happy ending in my book.

I think I've found the reason for this. Someone found that r/gendercritical was showing for them as being banned for being unmoderated (and might also be why someone posted to take over r/detrans so quickly on r/redditrequest).:

There were predictions of a banwave about a week before it happened. It seems that someone knew that a large number of moderation reports would cause, or increase the chances of, subreddits to be banned:

This would explain why r/detrans was removed but then reinstated. It was probably done automatically due to the large number of reports and user crossover from banned GC subreddits.

I don't know about these long-fasts, but I know you can do short-term fasts for medical reasons (not just for trying to lose weight).
