I really think we should have done more like they have. They seem to have fucked up nursing home residents as much as we did but at least they’ve not bought into wholesale madness with lockdown. We’ve had no deaths where I am for a while now, really hope it’s fizzling out

Honestly I have no idea what happened with Sweden. It scythed through their nursing homes, as expected. And then it just stopped.

Maybe social distancing is just in their culture.

Ok

It's all a conspiracy. Every country on earth is on it.

Never mind that dozens of studies from different countries show herd immunity to be impossible and antibodies dont last. Italians are getting sick twice now.

>every country is taking this seriously
>okay except for the ones that aren't but they are due for total catastrophe any minute now
>we know this will happen because every country is taking this seriously

I guess you're gonna have suck it up and deal with it then. Humans have dealt with far worse pandemics without completely shitting that bed.

well it's already a known that you can and will get sick again, I mean that's been known for a while here. Even if no one cares about grandma and you're peak fitness genetic super human being so sick you cant leave your bed for around a month, or passing that on to someone else every other month.. isn't good for business.

Or its <insert american politics here> fault and every nation on the FLAT globe is in on it!

back in reality, how is sweden doing? I heard that they gained nothing from locking down from the media but I honestly have a hard time believing that when they are so biased these days. also why are teachers bitching so much about going back to school? cant they just get another job if they cant handle the risk of teaching? my bet is they dont want to give up having so many breaks lol.

I'm starting to think DeWine just hates Cincinnati. We've got another week where all the state run testing is in the city, even though our hospitalizations and deaths are below Columbus and Cleveland. There's some thinking he's trying to get those numbers up so he can justify shutting down Butler county, he's petty enough it wouldn't surprise me.

Anyways, the Tuesday numbers were huge for cases, but Tuesdays are when they add in the weekend numbers so they always "spike." There were, counting the weekend, 6 deaths state wide. Butler County, one of the "worst" counties in the state, had 20 new cases, 4 Hospitalizations, 0 deaths, between the 11th and today. Also hearing from people that they signed up for testing, but left before they got test because of the wait, but they were contacted and told they tested positive. On top of the Florida testing thing, I'm guessing that might contribute to why he didn't have his press conference today. His Twitter was filled with what's likely the AmplifyOhio microinfluencers, demanding we shut everything down because of our terrible numbers. He really needs to hire a better class of shill.

No.

Initial reports of reinfection came from lingering virus particles, not active infections
(archive)
As of May, no true case of reinfection in humans had been confirmed *
To the best of my knowledge, no accepted case has been confirmed since, but May was the most recent peer-reviewed date
(archive)
Even if there are true cases of reinfection out there, statistically speaking they will drop to zero as more people catch the virus and recover *
(archive)

So no, there is no definitive evidence of short-term reinfection with COVID, absolutely zero evidence or reason to believe it would be worse the second time around - and even if we assume the handful of cases as actual reinfection and not just errors in testing - then reinfection is such a statistically insignificant possibility that it will not keep the virus alive and cases of reinfection would falter out as active infections go down.
Which even shit it doesn't take a peer-reviewed journal to look at how many millions of cases of COVID have occurred yet we only have a handful of "maybe" cases of reinfection and realize that its not a significant factor.

On a side note, do you doomposters/thunk-brains actually read everything that gets posted here or do you just drop in to spit a retarded hot take and leave?

Apparently Sweden is doing quite well. Their death rate is dropping close to zero, actually.

But break-through scientists at the top of their field here doom-posting on KiwiFarms say they are going to get hit with mega-death any minute now.

Follow up on the Detroit Summer School Protestors. 2,000 children were expected to show up to the first day of in-person learning. After protestors blocked school buses from leaving the depot, only 500 children did show up.
I didn't see anything yet about how the second day of school is going, nor any indication that the protestors showed up again.

So if you can get sick again there is no stopping Corona.

So why stay home and ruin the economy on top of it?

None of you "hur dur ammurica dumb" eurofags consider that point.

And of course there is this. Any good numbers must equal BAD to doomers.

To be fair to Europeans there are plenty of fellow Americans who make the same dumb point.
"Lol no immunity for COVID antibodies dont last lmao stay home until we get a vaccine!" without realizing how vaccines work.

i dont know what your doing. Staying at home indefinitely is retärded. and we arent staying at home anymore, not for quite some time. that was for the limited time until a proper plan was in place and numbers went down to be more manageable... and now theyre continuing to go down because everyone is back to living life with everyone masked in crowded places, no massive gatherings, and the government actually keeping track of outbreaks and tracing/quarantining select areas and people properly.. it works surprisingly well.

It's not emotional blackmail. It's the fact that a kid is going to be fucked up quite a bit if he accidentally kills a family member by bringing home COVID-19 from school.
It 100% is Emotional Blackmail, what fucking retard family would tell their kid "YOU KILLED GRANDMA CAUSE YOU WENT TO SCHOOL." instead of just telling the kid "Grandma was Old and it was her time."

But if you leave your pod, you could get The Virus(TM) and have a 95% chance of zero ill effects, and a slim chance of a bad cold. That's like...DEATH!

We have never quarantined healthy people before. But now in 2020, Studies Show that The Virus(TM) has possibly mutated ringworm, boneitis, and astral projection sometime last Tuesday, so you'd better be a good compliant citizen, mask up, and ruin your finances or Some People Somewhere will die at rates in the same order of magnitude as the seasonal flu. *spooky whistle noises*

Mystery surrounds car with 'COVID 19' number plate parked at Adelaide Airport
ABC Radio Adelaide
By Eugene Boisvert

[ original link / archive ]

A car with the number plate "COVID 19" has perplexed Adelaide Airport staff, who say it has been parked there for months.

Key points:
  • An airport staffer said colleagues first noticed the car months ago
  • He said its number plate was exposed after winds blew off its cover
  • Staff have speculated it could belong to a long-haul pilot
A photo of the grey BMW sedan was sent to ABC Radio Adelaide by airport worker Steven Spry, who said the vehicle has been left in the staff car park since before Australia's coronavirus lockdowns began.

The disease caused by coronavirus was first officially labelled "COVID–19" on February 11, and was declared a pandemic one month later.
Mr Spry said as far as colleagues could recall, the car had been there since "February or even earlier", and was definitely there from mid-March when most airport staff went on four weeks of forced leave.

He said the car had a cover over it which was blown off by windy weather in April, creating more intrigue about the car — and particularly its number plate.

He said staff had speculated about why such an expensive car would be left at the airport, parked in one of the spaces closest to the terminal. "We seem to think it might be a long-haul pilot who has gone overseas and can't get back," Mr Spry said.

"It's a high-end vehicle so it's going to have to be someone on a fair dollar to get a vehicle like that, but you'd think a family member would have gone to get it."

Staff are only meant to leave their vehicles in the car park for up to 48 hours, Mr Spry said.

Car registered until September

In South Australia, custom number plates have to be approved by the Registrar of Motor Vehicles.

It takes at least 10 days for a personalised number plate to go from purchase to being issued, South Australian Industry Minister David Pisoni told ABC Radio Adelaide.

The BMW in question is registered until September 26, 2020, according to the State Government's EzyReg website. Registration can be taken out for either three or 12 months. Custom number plate agreements are for 12, 24 or 36 months and are separate to registration.

There are no cars interstate with the registration "COVID 19", according to state government websites. However, in NSW a Volvo car has the registration "COVID" and a Suzuki motorcycle in the Northern Territory has the same number plate.
