He's the sort of person who copes with blackpill feelings with humor.

Jim's not a nihilist, but he used to take a notably humorous approach to topics he covered, even very serious ones. He was able to laugh at shit he really cared about, rather than get outraged at it, and it was this ability that helped him gain an audience that wanted to hear his take on things. If someone is able to give a good take on something grim while laughing, rather than being outraged and audibly angry, it will be easy to gain an audience. Even when Jim would be audibly angry, it would be interspersed with laughter and jokes.

Maybe Jim is so pissed at the way things are he knows he can't really pull off the humor anymore. Look at that video he just made, it was an obviously humorous situation, but it had little to do with the riots, and was ultimately a flash in the pan. You'd think Jim would cover the riots, as he's done before, but instead he covered what barely even amounted to a standoff. Jim's covered civil disputes before, but only when they're the top story, not some throwaway fed op nobody really cares about.

The comparison is so apt it's become hack at this point, but maybe Jim is to societal breakdown as Spoony is to Trump. They both started out mocking their topic of obsession, but eventually Spoony stopped finding Trump funny. Maybe something similar will happen to Jim.

Like I said, Jim clearly deals with his blackpill feelings with humor. He's not the Celtic God of Mischief above human emotions and human politics, as some people claim. He's just a shitposter with high charisma. But I dunno where you're getting that Jim is ragefilled now and incapable of laughing at things or whatever. The most recent vid was made in a couple hours (he first heard about it on his new Twitter, and hours later put out that low effort video), and clearly a safe target in the current climate (making fun of a right winger). Definitely just something he shit out to shit something out. Probably to placate the growing unrest in his fanbase about (1) not putting anything out; and (2) not putting anything out that wasn't about Corona.

Its obvious he's not covering the riots because he'll immediately get gestapo'd. IIRC, he has some strikes on his YouTube, so he feels the noose tightening around his neck. Him "being able to leave it all and take another identity" like some people think he'd still do was before it became his "job" and probably his sole source of income at the moment. He's already lost NP2 after buying a house. He probably doesnt wanna lose anything else like his Patron or ability to even use credit cards if he upsets the... bankers... and their current plans for society. The right wing purges, amping up for the elections, have sniper sights ready for him.

I don't think the sole reason is fear of getting cancelled. He's Irish, so laziness IS still a huge component. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if part of why he's rooting for the lethality of Corona is because censorship won't be an issue in the post apocalyptic wasteland of his dreams.

I'm not going to divulge into Jim's psychology, but Jim is a person who is rather reactive, as are his videos. His videos are generally not call to actions, with the closest videos to being ones are his "Gamergate" videos which he soon regretted. So while he may make videos out of outrage, he mostly only does things to amuse himself. Although I wouldn't call it an "ulterior motive," his videos are made with the intent to spur more drama first, and inform second. The few exceptions are when Jim has a personal vendetta, such as with Nick Bate, who you can't really blame Jim for hating. If you notice, a majority of his multi-part series are of events which are actively unfolding, such as with Ross or the drama surrounding the skeptic community. This is because he makes the videos to stoke the flames even more, and he most likely realized that because he had such a large following, he could more easily invoke uproars by doing nothing more than releasing videos which give information with a sprinkling of his own opinions.

"Jim is just a troll" may seem like a simple explanation, but it explains so much about his behavior. My best guess as to why he doesn't seem passionate about making content anymore, aside from being demonetized, is that most everything he can poke for a reaction already has multiple individuals already doing so. I wouldn't call them "copycats," but users like Dame Pesos already act as active provocateurs without Jim's involvement. With his recent video of the guy wetting himself after an embarrassing speech, I wasn't even aware such a thing even happening, and I doubt anyone else in his audience were, either. So, with this event flying under the radar without his intervention, he decided to draw attention to it with the intent of the person and the organization he represented being made into a laughingstock, which he most likely believed wouldn't happen otherwise.

It would be a heavy lift for a lot of his fans and detractors alike to understand what happens in a romantic relationship. So many of the Jim A-logs seem to be former fans. I don’t know what percentage of them talk shit about Jade, but of those who do, it always sounds like a scorned woman talking about the woman who “took” her man. Whether it’s the furious furries, the likes of Montagraph, or the Elliot Rodger fanboys who didn’t get the guy, it doesn’t take a PhD in psychology to understand why Jade and Jim went to such lengths to avoid being found IRL — especially if they’re starting or thinking about starting a family.

One hope of mine, which was proven wrong by now, was that his awareness of this was what drove him to not make content. But all the juicy stuff of the CHAZ has already played out and is out there, and there has been no stream or video.

So much golden material, never went anywhere with it.
