In 3.5 months, it’ll be a full fucking year since Nicky last saw his son. The hell does he have to show for that time spent “getting his life together”? A minimum wage job, tenuous sobriety, and naval gazing. At least Tess’s other ex seems to give half a shit about poor Rylee, but the way Nick hasn’t just abandoned Bowie but is using him for Reddit karma and his own narcissism while doing NOTHING practical for him is worse to me than if he just plain walked out. The way Tess has absolutely spiraled into homeless unemployed fatter than ever dysfunction would be very funny and well deserved if there wasn’t a four year old being visibly stunted by her neglect.

Around the time Nick Holliday left. Tess lied and said Nick was a millionaire. However their hedonistic and impulsive lifestyle caught up with them and they had to move out of their rented house. Hard to pretend to be a millionaire jet setter while crashing on your nanny’s couch. So Tess had no use for Nick so she kicked him out; he flew back to Australia shortly afterwards where he bags groceries for minimum wage and feels sorry for himself on Reddit. Tess and her kids have been homeless since. Rylee was dumped on an ex who is not Rylee’s father. Tess would love to offload Bowie but has nobody to do that to except Nick, which explains why he has refused to fly back to America.

For what it’s worth, dumping Bowie off on someone other than Nick is a good idea. With his new family, Rylee is doing great in school (which of course Tess takes credit for) and has lost weight. Bowie needs someone who actually gives a shit about him vs using him as a prop for Instagram stories.
