In the past when there was a "struggle" or war both sides had some commonality. That's why WW1 soldiers could have a Christmas party across trench lines. Why crusaders would sometimes spare women and children when sacking a city. People could look across to the "other" and see a bit of themselves.

Maybe that guy on the other side also has a young daughter. Maybe they like to fish or hunt. Maybe they like to write in a journal.

When I think of the current culture war I see nothing on the other side that doesn't foster absolute contempt from me. These people dont have families like mine. They dont share my hobbies. They dont celebrate my holidays. They are truly the "other".

TLDR I think bugman are not human and deserve a slow death.

It hurts not being able to see an enemy as human like me. Because I need to survive and protect those I love, it scares me that I must now entertain ideas that, even a few years ago, I found monstrous.

I used to be a Lolbertarian and still have quite a few friends that are more to that persuasion, every god damn one of them when confronted about it says: "Come on man you know Jo-Jo didn't mean that she supports the BLM organization, she just supports the message dude! I don't give a shit whether she was supporting the organization or not, supporting the message is bad enough because the message is largely based on bullshit, the most recent unrest based on that message is again, founded in bullshit. George "Fenty" Floyd happened to die of an overdose in the presence of policemen and a fair segment of the country lost it's collective fucking shit. That party has fallen a long fucking way from Ron Paul and even Gary Johnson.

I used to get pissed whenever people said voting third party was a wasted vote, now I find myself agreeing with that assessment. The Libertarians are letting the cringiest wing of the party rule it and they're pandering to them now. All of those 'sovereign citizen' asswipes that you see in videos giving cops a hard time over a fucking parking ticket, those are the ones being pandered to now. I guess Libertarians want 'muh legal weed' [a stance I wholeheartedly agree with, people do it anyway, might as well get tax revenue out of it] and hate cops enough that now they don't mind if their country transforms into an authoritarian shithole if it means they can smoke a doobie without getting hassled.

It's funny because the Gadsden flag became the de-facto symbol for the party. "Don't Tread On Me" only applies to cops and the federal government, not violent tankie shitheads who want to control both, apparently. With all the chipping away at the 2A under Obama [and 2017] nary a fucking peep from the Lolbertarians over that, but now they have to stand up to this mythical 'systemic racism' that they assure us totally exists. We can't give up liberty for security but I don't see the Lolbertarians doing anything meaningful to repeal the Patriot Act or shut down the NSA, or they haven't been.
