honestly its not that hard of a concept to nail
just kill the rivals at their own houses lol. if you did that, it'd make it harder every time to kill a rival because more and more people would be aware of a serial killer, so gameplay wouldnt just be arbitrarily harder for no damned reason. it'd make sense that more and more people would be alert and the city police not be useless (meaning they could probably start forcing people to follow a curfew and would slowly start to heighten security.)

then, when you get to school, you spend all your time saving face and getting to know people so you can find out more info about where they might be going after school (i.e. "oh, my rival is going to an arcade with this random girl and she'll be walking home by herself. this would be the perfect time to find out where she lives" OR "oh, my rival is going to an arcade with this random girl. i could tag along and take her to a secluded spot and kill her").

i just feel like its not that hard to make a game where you have to live two different lives constantly

Stop sending me amateur drawings, that I can't even fap to!

I realize, that it is Alex's words, so they should be taken with a bag of salt, but I'm surprised any publisher is talking to him and even promises to make a game for him help him. Why? His game's prime in terms of popularity is long gone, his glorified pre-alpha is a walking joke and he himself is even bigger laughingstock. Furthermore, have they heard about his history with TinyBuild? Also, how do they hope to sell this shit? Steam will probably tell them to fuck off, EGS has even stricter policy, porting this spaghetti monster to any console is impossible task, add to this, that it is banned on Twitch, so no advertisements from streamers. It's a black hole of a business decisions.
Either it gets ported to Stadia or goes purely to mobile.

I like this idea a lot, it'd be more of a Manhunt than a Hitman IMO but having Watchdog-esque police would be a really neat concept once you violently kill enough girls. Having the school life could also put pressure on things, for example: Why is Yandere-chan such a loner after school? How come she never hangs out with anyone? In order to get over social hurdles you'd have to plan around spending time to keep up appearances while also finding the time to wipe out the opposition. I like the premise that it'd be a social sim inter-laden with stealth aspects. Imagine having to dive between dumpsters to avoid police patrols to get to your rivals house. Of course this is probably an overtly ambitious and optimistic idea but IF it could be nailed I think it'd have potential.

this is exactly what i was thinking of. the first thing that comes to my mind actually is ted bundy (cringe) and how people indirectly covered for him because he was too 'charming' and had good social skills, so they didnt think it'd be him killing people. yandere-chan taking the time to actually hang out with people and act like a normal person would put a lot of suspicion away from her becasue she'd be 'too normal to hurt people'.
side note: i dont understand why people arent actually referencing real serial killers, becasue yandere-chan technically IS a serial killer

I remember when i'm testing the game in 2016/2017... the fucking protag have a basement to torture people.
If the game had lesbian forced sex from the start i'm sure there will be profits from patreon
I'm sure Alex prefers being close to edgy kids rather than profitable coomers... but maybe i'm drinking too much to have that affirmation.

I think a big problem with this game is that the development has been so long people's expectations are naturally growing higher and higher. Alex can't just make a shitty Hitman clone set in an anime Highschool anymore. Now he has to make the best Hitman-style game ever made and it also has to be the best use of Persona-style social elements ever, and the best dating sim ever, and the best school simulator ever, and the best anime jerkoff game ever.

Alex couldn't even make a side-scrolling beat 'em up that didn't feel totally generic. How the fuck is he gonna make twenty of the best games ever and put them all together?

I think one of the biggest problems here is the same problem that's been plaguing Star Citizen: sunken cost fallacy. When someone has spent considerable amounts of time and money on a game, it becomes very hard to pull yourself away from the game and cope with the loss. With both YanSim and Star Citizen, the solution for these people is to rationalize the delay by telling themselves that these games will be the greatest games ever when they're released. I think Alex knows that he's basically selling a dream instead of an actual game, and that's part of the reason why Osana has been delayed so long, since the dreams die when development progresses. I think realising that their dream game isn't all that it was cracked up to be might also be a reason why the fan games fail as well. Yandere School was just a cash grab, but the people who actually care about the game never seem to be able to make it themselves.

at this point alex should work as a coder for salty discord servers. why even bother work on your game if you can get paid for baby proofing censorship servers.

So there's a "Bow-Kun" now, officially.
Take a look at those leg proportions, yowza.

Update: This design, within the Discord, is being received less than perfectly. Apparently the bandages are triggering a bunch of kids due to the self-harm connotations. Other issues seems to vary by person, and they had to put an announcement to "clarify" that it isn't official ART, just an official DESIGN.
Did Zun draw this?
