Can you dye your hair unnatural colors without becoming a dangerhair?

I once dyed my hair lavender (just because I thought it was a pretty color). The color was okay, but the problem was that everyone assumed I was a lesbian. I didn't realize it was some secret code that let everyone know you played for the same team. But in my area, it seemed to be. Or maybe it just made me look really gay. 🤷‍♀️

Everyone was cool about it. I didn't have any negative reactions, but I felt kind of like I was an interloper so I went back to my normal hair color. I would try different colors but none of the other options really suit me and I'm afraid that there really is some hair color code that I'm unaware of and I don't want to signal that I'm something awful like skoliosexual, polyamorous, or an actual dangerhair.

You worry too much about what other people perceive you as. Limedudes in the 90s who would only Pierce their right ear, because left was apparently cod for "gay."

bright red is mass murder hair while everything else is rapist FACT

I was going to say that if you dye your hair a bright color you should go all in on the punk rock aesthetic, but Antifa has ruined that too. :(

Seriously though, dress however the fuck you want. It's the behavior that makes these people insufferable. The fashion sense is merely a strong correlation.

Above all, whatever their style is they tend to do it in a way that's extreme, halfhazard, and ugly. So if you have an eye for what's aesthetically pleasing and put care into your appearance, that will help a lot.

I've dyed my hair plenty of times before. From my experience it never really left any lasting damage to my hair. Initially my hair becomes try and course right after a dye job, but a few days later it's back to feeling like how it naturally did. My hair was Dyed Strawberry blond/brown and everything went fine.

However I believe if you dye it a lot then the your hair will become damaged over time.

Maybe it's because of where I live but bright colors are still associated with edgy teens in a rebellious phase and most adults (early 20s) with bright hair I know aren't crazy SJW types. I don't even consider strawberry a dangerhair color, it's mostly done by attention seeking instagram influencers.

You have to be really hot to pull bright colors off, otherwise just makes you look like a tryhard

I’ve dyed my hair a couple times. I’ve done smoky purple but it wasn’t quite right and faded to a weird blue grey. I’ve gone red-orange a couple times trying to achieve a more natural but still “red” color. It looks fine for a bit but fades to a gross orangey color. Really, it eventually fading and looking bad is the worst. I’m a blonde so I never bleach my hair though. I have “fine” hair so I’m paranoid about bleaching damage tbh. The semi permanent colors I use are basically conditioner with lots of dye in it. Doesn’t seem to do any damage to me.

My hair has been its natural color for awhile, but I’m considering trying henna to achieve a better natural red color, the main issue is it’s a lot more permanent so I’m not sure about that.

Edit to add: when I had red hair i was touching it up since it was lightened and realized I only had enough dye to retouch 2/3 of it so I ended up with an accidental ombré that looked like fire. It was kinda cool but it would be annoying to keep it up like that. People who have multiple different colors in their hair need a lot of upkeep imo.

On a more serious note, I wanted unnaturally coloured hair for years (couldn't justify the expense to get and maintain it) til I noticed how many other people have it. It's no longer special or unusual or unique, it doesn't make you stand out, it doesn't mark you as an individual, so what's the point?

Yes it's totally possible but dangerhairs will gravitate towards you and mistake you as one of their own. I used to have vibrant dyed hair and when it faded it had a pastel effect, during this time I had dangerhairs trying to befriend me and call me valid every 5 seconds etc. But then once they actually got to know me they would block me on social media and call me out for innocuous wrongthink. I don't really dye my hair bright colours anymore because it's too high maintenance. Atleast those sorts won't be lulled into a false sense of security around me anymore.

Henna is tricky. Some people swear by it but It's a lot of work and there's not really a guarantee that it'll give you much of a colour change and you can't use regular colour over it because it reacts with the ingredients in regular toners.

A keratin mask after dyeing hair should be enough to prevent it getting damaged.

Henna only makes hair darker, not lighter. So if you start with black hair you won't see much change. But if you have grey hair, blonde hair, or light blonde hair - and you use real, pure henna - you'll be a ginger with minimal fading and barely any damage.

But yes, you cannot take it out of your hair and you cannot dye over it with anything except henna/cassia/indigo. If your hair doesn't melt from a chemical salt reaction, it just won't take the color properly since henna penetrates the hair shaft.

I think you can dye your hair with whatever color you want and don't become a dangerhair.
Sure most of SJWs dye their pube's head with unnatural colours but not all people who do that are insufferable bastards.
Is the attitude, the constant annoyed expression on their faces, aka fish face syndrome, and their actions that make them like that.
Be free to colour your hair but don't be a jackass.

Yeah, I am a light blonde so if I do my research and find some good quality stuff, it should hopefully be reddish. I don't feel like having another bright/semi-permanent hair color anyway. I can do a small strand test to double check the color I suppose.

Nupur, Karishma, or Mumtaz. Pure henna is green and smells grassy. Mix with water and a splash of lemon or coffee if you want, make into a paste of pudding consistency. Set covered overnight. Stir before applying, for best results rinse hair in vinegar prior to applying, you cannot use a brush like dye so try a spoon or wide tipped bottle for scalp roots. Messy AF so beware. Wrap your head in plastic wrap or grocery bags, put a towel around your shoulders, and hang out for a minimum of three hours. For best results sleep with it in, wrap your pillow in a towel. You can shampoo it out if you want. Blow dry your hair to seal in the color. It develops over a couple days, so immediate rinse-out color will not be your final result.

Avoid Rainbow and Lush which are garbage.

edit: I MEAN IT. IT'S FOREVER. IT'S PERMANENT. ONLY WAY TO GET RID OF IT SAFELY IS TO CUT IT OUT.

I personally think it's possible, dangerhairs come off that way because it's coupled with unfortunate execution. Honestly what it all boils down to is acting like a normal person and keeping the other aspects of your hair presentable. Quality is always better, so try to not fry your hair.

Nobody with a good personality wants neon hair. Doesn't happen. No good woman finds out what abortion is then decides to get pregnant to try it out. How do I have an abortion kink without getting associated with crazy loons? You don't.

People say "do what you love fuck everything else" they mean build a giant castle or make your own operating system. they don't mean turn your hair purple.
