Imagine, 20 years ago. There's a dark lab. Surgeon researchers work on perfecting how to combat degenerative disc disease by inducing it in chimps and then trying to fix their mangled spines. After hundreds of failures and hundreds of dead chimps, the technique is perfected.

At the same time, a young neurosurgeon decides that he wants to pursue medicine. He works hard, excels in undergraduate, gets his MD, and the toils for 7 years in residency to become a neurosurgeon. Not satisfied, he then undergoes a fellowship in minimally invasive spine base surgery, taking several more years of his almost-entirely-gone youth, where he learns the technique those researchers perfected.

All those years and all that blood and sweat resulted in saving a patient so he could produce:

I ate a few probes here and there and then got a ban but I never felt like having it rescinded. I decided I had less painful and less wasteful use for 10bux. Like buying some pipe cleaners to shove down my urethra.
