Austin is not yet lost?

Beginning to wonder when we'll see actual bombings. Perhaps the rioters smart enough to put an IED together also realize it would likely do massive collateral damage to their own people.

That requires technical skill and Craftsmanship. They lack those things.

Bombing themselves probably wouldn't effect them because they are simply drones.

Not quite true with the Confederates, Lincoln made sure to give them the best treatment anyone who ever lost a civil war received, to the point that all their fears of "Northern Tyranny" subsided until the Civil Rights Era after the end of Reconstruction.
i didn't mean "murder them all until none remain". they didnt do that to the confederates, they didnt do it to the nazis either.
but they did make sure that the main cause of the confederacy (states right to secede from the union) would be eliminated forever. there never was and never will be advocacy for a neo confederacy, or for return to slavery. the civil war completely and utterly eliminated the confederates as a political force.
similar situation after ww2 in germany. they called it "denazification" which meant thoroughly purging the party and its ideas from public life for good. same in japan, where they dismantled and redesigned the entire state's structure and eliminated even the idea of imperial divinity.

An absolute legend appears

Damn, with better camera work this would be a scene straight out of a summer action blockbuster. That Based Spartacus dude is fuckin badass, the cig in his mouth really completes the look.

EDIT: According to some other guy, the dude is actually a massive cunt. Still, it was a cool fight, but maybe it's not that hard to fight off three soybitches.

It is not really though, defending the police means police will be way less likely to be trained in non lethal control methods, less likely to receive less then lethal tools/weapons (mace, taser, etc), less likely to receive mental health crisis and deescalation training, and all the "good" police candidates (those with high training and 4 year degrees who are all less likely to use force as per studies done a few years ago), will go else where as they can get way better paying jobs with better benefits (if the police get defunded there goes any decent benfits that might attract people even with bad pay) else where, leaving the reminding cops in the more likely to use deadly force group due to lack of training and lack of education.

Authoritarian and Totalitarian states love police who use lethal force/don't give a shit about the well being of their citizenship.

And if we go the "abolish the police" then we are in a state of anarchy which to quote Hobbes on the state of nature
" Whatsoever therefore is consequent to a time of War, where every man is Enemy to every man; the same is consequent to the time, wherein men live without other security, than what their own strength, and their own invention shall furnish them with all. In such condition, there is no place for Industry; because the fruit thereof is uncertain: and consequently no Culture of the Earth; no Navigation, nor use of the commodities that may be imported by Sea; no commodious Building; no Instruments of moving, and removing things as require much force; no Knowledge of the face of the Earth; no account of Time; no Arts; no Letters; no Society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death; And the life of man solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short. "
Exactly. Seek freedom and you become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your true liberty.

Police precincts in Seattle don't execute the laws of the United States. They execute the laws of the State of Washington and the Seattle Municipal Code. The US law on seditious conspiracy addresses sedition against the United States, not sedition against the State of Washington or the City of Seattle:
Local LEOs enforce city, state, and at times federal laws, if there was a joint task force in any of the precincts and there was evidence, files, or what ever would cause issues with the investigation/trail/enforcement of law. Also a mundane example of local police enforcing federal law, any passenger car made after 1984 (and light truck after 1994) must have a working third break light under Federal law, if the third break light isn't working (or doesn't function as prescribed by federal law, even if the state has no law on a third break light) is able to pull you over and cite you/issue a fix-it ticket/etc.

I can't find any case law on it and there seems to be no definition in the law stating what "united states building" and "any united state law" is. This seems to be an issue for the courts to sort out at this time.

What I'm hoping for is a splintering point being reached. Last night, a bunch of rioters got shot either by other rioters or by the people they were trying to assault. When that happened where I live, the rioting subsided, because it was no longer some risk free activity to loot businesses and attack people.

There was a similar fracturing with Occupy Wall Street. After the encampments had gone on for so long, people started having irreconcilable disagreements about what the movements goals and methods were to the point you had people leaving and denouncing OWS publicly. I was only seeing those kind of comments after OWS had been going on for a year or more at that point, yet I'm seeing that same disillusionment with BLM and ANTIFA after about two months right now.

Riot response has been pretty subdued so far, which has emboldened the rioters. There's also been very little consequence for rioting, either socially or legally. If the Police and Fed response to the riots matches the intensity of last night in Portland, and if rioters keep shooting their own in confusion or getting pushback from the people they're attacking, they're going to get demoralized and scared enough to stop coming out.

NGL: Avoiding the fray was probably a smart idea. That shit can go south fast without warning. Very happy you both stayed safe.

I recently heard from someone who lives near the Seattle happenings. Apparently, it's already the case that social workers there sometimes go to locations without the police readily available to support them if a confrontation suddenly escalates, for better or for worse. Despite her liberal beliefs, she doesn't believe in defunding the police as the activists envision it, and the recurring violence concerns her enough that she wants to move farther away from it if her job makes working from home more of a permanent option than it already is.
Thank you!
That's very interesting to hear your friend's perspective. I thought that replacing one government agency with several revolving ones sounded like a fantasy, but they keep insisting that it works in Sweden/Finland/etc.
Very interesting your friend is against it.

I'm getting the impression there are two types of jews involved in this: religious zionists who support republicans and irreligious communists who support democrats.

We need more of this to happen so that the lefties can see just how terrible the monster they have created is. And, it will.

People have used the term 'golem' a bit 'round here to describe the rising mob and it's out of control nature and that's a really apt metaphor, regardless of some of the connotations. Mess around with stuff you can't control and sure enough it will come for you, eventually. At least, if those early Expressionist films of the 1920's with golems in them taught me anything.
