probably not a popular opinion on this thread but if some black people doing a thing you enjoy ruins it for you that sounds like more of a you problem

I don't really care if black people enjoy it, they're completely in their rights to do so! I just don't like having to wade through tons of posts saying that anyone who's white and into the aesthetic is racist, that people who look like they walked straight out of the SJW Art and Extremes thread are beautiful, that modern farming practices are colonialist, and just about every other tumblr hot take in order to find something I actually want to see.

Again, it wasn't this bad before the riots started up. It was mostly normal with pictures and recipes and ideas and barely any grandstanding. I just want to see some pretty pictures of the countryside and get ideas for my garden, that's it. Not all... that. Sorry if I sound dramatic, I'm just sick of pretty much every hobby of mine getting taken over. Guess that post was kind of me venting.

I'll agree that it smacks of "if I make my Aesthetic post all about black people (feat. fatties), then it'll be more popular". Same as how everyone has to post stuff about black people to avoid being called racist, until people get bored of BLM again.

But by itself, without the whole tumblr aura... eh, it's just an image set of six people with non-hayfever privilege. Same as plenty of other aesthetic-type posts that seem to make up most of what "cottagecore" is about, from my ignorant outsider's perspective. I mean, the pic in the bottom right just looks like a random wedding photo.

Tumblr needs to shut down blogs that ebeg for money at this point. It's gotten ridiculous, out of hand, and way too many people are writing ebeg posts.
