I absolutely hate The Andy Griffith Show (starring Andy Griffith)

Everything about the program is obnoxious -- from the theme song to the characters.

You've got Andy Taylor, a 90 IQ "aww shucks" type who happens to know better than everyone else in town. The Ur-example of a silver screen Gary Stu. He is also supposedly attractive despite looking like Howdy Doody. It's easy to see Frances Baviar got fed up with this vanity project.


Barney Fife is supposed to be a goofy sidekick with a heart of gold, but is a nosy retard either thinking of only himself or sucking Andy's ass.

Aunt Bee constantly sounds like she's being fucked up the ass.

Dopie Opie with his "pahs" gets old real fast.

And the music performed by Andy and co. is absolute garbage.


Some of the episodes revolve around side characters we never see again. One episode is about Opie getting a bad grade in "arithmetic". One revolves around some brat who rode his bicycle on the sidewalk. One episode is about how Barney is a coward when confronted by a couple of guys breaking the law.

Compare this garbage to what shows were doing at the time:

Not sure where else to put this, but Bill Hicks is a shitty comedian.

He was one of the first in a long line of comedians to be preachy about his ideological stances and make that wrap around his comedy and a lot of his routines aren't that funny...except his one about porn. His "lol rednecks" jokes are so cliche and drivel.

I'm honestly broken to reality that a lot of Youtubers are only entertaining simply because they have something to "fair use" already existing media as something they can use as an easy crutch or prop. I know that TV declined in the years to come post 2000, and well, it wasn't everything, but maybe it's my withdrawal or a want to feel connected to society again, but I kinda want to watch shows at a specific time and watch commercials again. There is still satellite TV and it is nice and I should get it, but this is a topic I am hardcore sperg about too. Rate me optimistic.

Same here. Well, except the commercials to be honest. I'm not a fan of Joe Bob Briggs but I enjoyed watching old re-runs of Monstervision than I did anything on YouTube. You can only watch so many YouTube videos before you snap because every video and YouTuber is just too similar. Attack of the clones!

I think the fact that she is totally unaware of how self absorbed she is became a joke that wrote itself. Although I liked her better in early seasons.

Brittany from this season of The Other Way is so fake. I thought she was a troon at first. But it's just the bad wigs and overdone conturing makeup. She looks way better natural. I hear she is working on a rap career and used her move to Jordan to get more views. She is an opportunistic instahoe. She probably thought the Western girl going to a Muslim country thing was big enough to get her exposure. But this story has been done to death. The entitled American brat thing worked better with Avery and Omar. At least Avery appeared to be genuinely delusional. She had Mira thing going on where she had some kind of mental break and Islam'd out.

Tim is super boring. His voice puts me to sleep and if Melyza is this upset about him cheating right before her visit to America then she should just break up with him. He isn't worth it anyway.

But please God, no more fake RussiaBot brides. We already had two awful storylines like that.

Angela and Michael are best couple. They should get a spinoff instead of those fake plastic twins. At first you thought Stacey was normal. But she is just like Darcey. Once she got more awful surgery it was clear how awful she was too.

The new Netflix babysitter's club show isn't bad. They did a pretty good job making it modern, though it feels slightly hammered in at times. It's also an improvement on the books in a lot of ways. I didn't get to the troon kid episode yet but so far it's watchable.

Burn Notice, Monk* and Psyche are better than The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and The New Battlestar Galactiga

(the last two are still fantastic though)

*I am giving the finale a pass..The Solution to "Who killed Trudy" was dumb as hell..but the Scenes at the end of Him with Trudy's daughter was sweet enough that it made up for it.

I don't know if it's unpopular or not. But I am sick of Netflix's LGBTQRST+5 pandering. I just finished Ratched. I thought it started out good. But by the puppet show episode it just became stupid and unbalanced. The characterization was all over the place. To the point where I didn't know how to think of people. It started to feel like bad fanfiction fast. It seems like no one really stayed in character because they didn't have one. They were just whatever the scene called them to be. The best character was Nurse Bucket. She was more like the original Nurse Ratched than this incarnation was. Fuck. I'd watch the hell out of a show about Nurse Bucket.

Also, it's 1947 and they are trying way too hard to be woke. They did a really nice job with the hair, wardrobe and decor. So it's obvious they were going for realistic and not fantasy history. So what the hell is with all the lesbian stuff? Not that they exist, because obviously they did. But that many lesbos in one place. including two in the closet?

Gwendolyn's Gaydar pings for Mildred Ratched right away. She even takes her to a lesbian bar in the middle of nowhere. Like after they have one date that isn't exactly a date date. A little dangerous isn't it? She could alert the police. Those places were illegal back then.


Nurse Ratched being a closeted lesbian isn't a stretch. She is a super bitch and probably has a lot of issues under the hood fueling that.

The other two lesbians are a married woman who is hospitalised for lesbianism. The melancholic German opera singer is closeted and is caught in a sexual act with the other one.

Gwendolyn Briggs is in a double beard marriage. Alone that isn't so odd since being out in the 40s was a very dangerous thing and would pretty much sink any career ambitions you had and alienate you from a lot of people. Being gay was still listed as a mental illness you could get locked up for.

But the Briggs' are an interracial couple. Already toeing a dangerous line with double bearding, they also would earn the ire of a lot of people just for a black man married to a white woman. But this is never ever brought up. Never mind that Gwendolyn is the governor's secretary. The most we get about racism is Charlotte Wells' trauma over being kidnapped by a bunch of white boys for nine days and she and Dr. Hanover being told that their kind of people have to pay up front at the restaurant. Never mind that every other time Dr. Hanover dined out (which was a lot) he was never told this. This is my grandparents' generation. A lot of the people from that era that I knew were like Archie Bunker. My aunt, who was born in 1934, got enough hell just for being a dark Italian raised by blonde haired, blue eyed Polish relatives. Kids called her nigger and told her that her kind wasn't wanted in this neighborhood. She was harassed and bullied at school.

Maybe I am sperging a bit over this and California was different than Pennsylvania back then.

Mr. Briggs is against his wife leaving the marriage for Mildred Ratched. But then by the end he is magically ok with the marriage splitting up even though he made partner. Because he just met a man and is in love. Sure seemed resolved easy without any social issues. It's 1947 not 2020. I know pandering is important to you but damn. Why not set the series in modern times? You get a lot more leeway.

Anyway, other than that the ending was awful and made zero sense to me. Edmund, upset after finding out that his sister Mildred is going to give him a lethal injection (rather than see him suffer in the electric chair) while he plays with the farm animals takes off with the insane multiple personality parody character Charlotte Wells. She just appears out of fucking nowhere again after Dr. Hanover's death and takes over the hospital at gun point. And at the end the motel caretaker Louise is there with them. Why the fuck is she traveling the country with them? Where the hell did that come from? I like Amanda Plummer but why is she even traveling with two lunatics?

Most of the good or interesting characters die. I was astounded that Bucket lived. There's so much gore and death that just seems like it's there for shock value when Ratched can get along on bitchy manipulation alone much of the time.

It's unfortunate because the peach scene was hilarious and Ratched and Bucket's interactions were great. I think that it would have been better without all the horror. And this is coming from a horror fan.

Charlotte was actually a very sympathetic character when she wasn't a five second split personality joke than ran for several hour long episodes.

I hope this doesn't get a second season. I'll take OG Ratched any day other this clusterfuck.
