The only modification I have to this is that in county jail... whites are obligated to work out if they are under the age of 40. (Sometimes 35) He probably tried to be a lazy piece of shit for as long as he could ... the maximum they (white shot-callers, right-hands etc) would allow him to be a slovenly race-shamer is about a month and that’s if he was detoxing (which he most certainly was).
After that ... it’s work out or get broken off. Ralph is a pussy so he did what he was told in there.
They also (the state) starve everyone a bit, so for Ralph, mandatory hour/day workout + very little food for a few months led to rapid weight loss... but if you are a fat hobbit to begin with it leaves hanging/griseled flesh behind.
