Amidst the obnoxious circlejerking, it really stands out to me that they keep saying "He's terrible so give him lighter skin" which, on top of Manny making every Japanese character he touches at least tan, shows how much they disregard light skinned POC(such as East Asians), and its pretty, yknow, racist. And they do it with no sense of awareness whatsoever.

If the way Manny draws himself is accurate, he's pretty light skinned(and considering how much he darks other characters, he may be even lighter), so it's pretty ironic. He's probably got a lot of white in him, though since he claims Afro latino, he probably pretends like that part is still POC.

Oh boy, what a wall of autism. And because I’m such a glutton for punishment, I’ll be going over why this list is exaggerated:
-That plot point was only brought towards the second act and was really just a stock motivation for Branch. It wasn’t really in depth.
-See the above point. They even had the character sing a song and his problems were solved.
-Nothing like this ever happened in the film unless you squint. I mean there is technically a genocide but it’s played lightheartedly for the most part.
-Speaking of which, you never actually see them eat the trolls. It’s on par with Gargamel trying to eat the Smurfs back in the 80s.
-Second film’s theme was how pop music gets into everywhere, even when it doesn’t fit. They weren’t even subtle about it.
-“Leadership” and “good and bad authority” are about as basic as you can get with children’s media. See Transformers, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, He-Man.
-Black comedy has been a staple of other kid’s shows and movies for a while; this guy would be mind blown if they saw Billy and Mandy. Actually, I’m afraid for this person if Trolls is seriously their first experience with black comedy.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but at least with stuff like Steven Universe the deep themes were actually intended by the creators and thus justified with being examined in depth. Here, they’re just pulling shit out of their ass to justify liking what is a schlocky kid’s movie. Weirdly enough, this has also happened with movies like Dora and Venom.
