🐱 Herman Cain Dies from Coronavirus

CatParty

Former Republican presidential candidate and ex-CEO of Godfather's Pizza Herman Cain, 74, has died almost a month after being hospitalized for coronavirus.

The big picture: Cain, the co-chair of Black Voices for Trump, was in a high-risk group due to his history with cancer. Cain's positive coronavirus test came less than two weeks after he attended President Trump's controversial campaign rally in Tulsa, where he tweeted a picture of himself without a mask.

  • Public health officials had warned that the large-scale rally could infect many and put lives at risk.
  • It's unclear whether Cain contracted the virus at the Trump rally.
  • While in the hospital, Cain commented on a July 4 celebration at Mt. Rushmore, tweeting: "Masks will not be mandatory for the event, which will be attended by President Trump. PEOPLE ARE FED UP!"
What they're saying:

Let me deal with some of the particulars of the last few weeks. We knew when he was first hospitalized with COVID-19 that this was going to be a rough fight. He had trouble breathing and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. We all prayed that the initial meds they gave him would get his breathing back to normal, but it became clear pretty quickly that he was in for a battle.
We didn’t release detailed updates on his condition to the public or to the media because neither his family nor we thought there was any reason for that. There were hopeful indicators, including a mere five days ago when doctors told us they thought he would eventually recover, although it wouldn’t be quick. We were relieved to be told that, and passed on the news via Herman’s social media. And yet we also felt real concern about the fact that he never quite seemed to get to the point where the doctors could advance him to the recovery phase.

‘Murder or suicide’: Trump faces immediate backlash for Tulsa rally after Herman Cain dies of COVID

President Donald Trump felt immediate backlash on Thursday after a former Republican presidential candidate who attended his Tulsa campaign rally died from COVID-19.

Representatives for Herman Cain confirmed that the 74-year-old former GOP candidate died this week from complications due to COVID-19. Cain was thought to have contracted the disease while attending Trump’s recent rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Twitter users swiftly blamed the president for Cain’s death.

“Herman Cain’s death has gotta be on Trump’s hands, right?” one person asked.

“There is no way to spin this,” Dave Zirin noted.

“Basically, Donald Trump killed Herman Cain,” Roland Scahill lamented.

(And then a bunch of ghoulish tweets that’ll get deleted probs)
Remember when "journalism" didn't amount to posting tweets made by your political fellow travellers? Then again, maybe that's the optimum for rags such as Raw Story.

Bit of an odd statement.

The man had stage 4 colon cancer, i'm afraid he was borrowed time as it was. My admittedly racist friends thought he was probably one of the only good politicians in our lifetimes. If he hadn't had those horseshit allegations pushed on him and stepped down in 2012, I bet the election would've been closer or maybe he could've won.

Either way, heaven's finally getting a decent tax plan. RIP.

Ok boomer. How about you prove that case by not wearing a mask or changing your party afflication?
It is kind of unusual that the only big-name politicians that have died over the last couple of months were the old, black men. You'd expect that the people who would kick the bucket first would be people like Pelosi or Blumenthal, who both look like reanimated death, but apparently God has more interest in civil rights leaders and pizza magnates. Heaven must be going through some unusual times if these are the politicians that he needs the most.

As far as I recall, only two have passed away recently. John Lewis and Herman Cain. Somebody mentioned that Cain had Stage 4 cancer, but another source revealed that he tested positively for Corona. John Lewis passed away from pancreatic cancer. I'd rather not go all tin foil about the timing of their deaths. They've lived full lives and contributed greatly to American society. Probably a good thing they're away from this craziness now.

Translation: They can start hunting and killing Whites like it's South Africa but at least I've got muh conservative principles!

I swear to god it's worse than lolberts and "it's ok if it's muh private companies"

It's like people have no understanding of game theory. If you want people to stop punching you in the face, you punch them in the face back. Or you can pretend that taking it like a bitch is "standing on your principles," or whatever, but that just means your principles include being a bitch.

Press F to pay respects

On a more serious note, I hope his family will find peace, and I am sorry for their loss. Getting COVID-19 after dealing with major cancer before that is a horrible way to go.

There's a reason why I'm not going to grave dance when RBG finally dies. She paid her dues and dying from multiple cancers at her age while being propped up as a political pawn is hellish enough. Even if she's a lefty judge, I still wouldn't dance on her grave and I'd feel bad for her.

That, and she's pretty much a victim of elder abuse by the DNC.
