If you're the right breed of asian you can almost slit throats while people speak to you and still come off just fine. One of the chinese kids I know has been working on pushing the limits with people, lately when he speaks to the apparently progressive types he'll mumble and speak so quickly and fragmented, yet leave just enough instances of "ching/chong" in the word slurry that it's the only discernable part they can hear. Its mostly the Wahhabi sect of Islam that is hardcore in iconoclasm otherwise the Caliphs that ruled Egypt after the death of Muhammad would have no issues destroying them. Its been ruled by many Islamic empires so it depends on what sect is in power.

It's admittedly hard to gauge the level of intensity the riots are at since they've been attacking streamers, but I think tonight and maybe tomorrow night are the best indicators for the energy. Iirc there was a week/weekend in late June or mid July where it almost seemed like it was going to finally stop, but something happened (I think Wheeler expressed support for them?) and they went back up to like 85% energy levels.
Plus with a lot of ringleaders being v&, there's less of a cohesion. I think that IED going off in the courthouse might be the apex, with everything kinda dying down or having less energy now.
Of course, if they find another criminal to turn into a martyr then all bets are off.

Anyone who makes a big, long, labyrinthine guide on what amounts to "dress like any other NPC in the crowd" is an overthinking tactitard. All you really need to be a gray man is dress appropriately for the situation and don't act in a way that draws attention to yourself.
There's a 99% chance everyone you pass on the street or at the store is concerned only with their own business, and gives you as much attention as they would a traffic cone. Nobody cares, so there's no need to act like you're a secret agent.
Edit: which is not to say walk around with your head in the clouds. But paying attention to your surroundings is not hard and doesn't require paranoia.
