My uncle left Seattle in like 2005 because it was getting too dirty and crime ridden for him. I can't even imagine the levels of third world hell it's at now.

Maybe I'm just conflating civilized with empathy. Its like how honest people will want to believe that everyone around them is morally similar so the idea of some sort of systematic racial oppression existing in the modern first world might not seem too far fetched for many who've had white guilt badgered onto them their whole lives. That coupled with companies just playing ball to keep their capital flow.

I don't think it's genetic or a symptom of civilization since there are civilized countries that aren't so kind. Being hyper-empathetic is just part of modern Western culture. Unfortunately, it lets wolves from the outside prey on the citizens.

Someone better backup all of Elijah Schaffer and Andy Ngo's videos (and I'm sure there are others from those I don't follow). They're all on Twitter, but I can totally see Twitter deleting their accounts for [insert unspecified violation here] and losing all that collected evidence. If Trump's campaign is smart (and I think they generally are) they'll put supercuts of all the violence on every TV the last month before the election so everyone knows what was happening in cities across the nation. Some videos of explosions, wounded officers, fat trannies with guns, all superimposed over Biden stuttering about identity politics in a room of 12 people would do more than all the collective hours of CNN/MSNBC/DNC surrogate news would in the previous 6 months combined in the mind of the average suburban voter.

Feel free to hire me any time, Trump campaign. I won't even ask for a lot of money.

Don't let this detract, though, from what this is. It's NIMBYism. They want to increase segregation by finding a nice plot of land to build some projects on and throw all those BIPOC over there. Presumably where no-one could afford private security. Unless they're suggesting that the state seize private property which is not currently in use to throw the homeless into? That's a curious one.

Also - note they'll snip snip some funding if the cops were doing a lot of overtime this year and the next. Now why would they need to do overtime?

Lastly, worth pointing out - this is generally what the "defund"sters mean when they say it. Cut money from the police, push it into "community" programs which are supposed to take responsibilities from the cops. IE, this is going to be a very very good test run of seeing not only how this idea works in practice, but also how quickly these folks can whip up excuses for why it backfires.

The mob may be a lot cheaper than paying the City for protection, though. Probably much more effective too. They probably won’t ever be taken to task for a wrongful shooting either. Forget the George knee, you’ll be lucky if they don’t a perp’s balls off for rocking the boat.
