Social mobility only occurs in very few instances throughout history, and is the exception rather than the rule. For the most part, the social class you’re born into is likely the class you stay in (unless something happens). This meme makes no sense because it assumes this is capitalism’s fault, rather than an ongoing issue in any economic model. Here's the problem: these idiots truly believe that communist systems abolish the concept of class by making everybody "working class", therefore you don't need social mobility as it's baked into the system.

Of course, anyone with more than a pair of brain cells to spare and at least one functioning eyeball immediately points out that those systems simply replace economic classes with political classes instead. To oversimplify, instead of "poor, middle-class, upper class" and social mobility provided to those who manage to amass and manage enough financial assets (in whatever way they see fit), you have "proles, party, politburo" (I know, there are upper and lower parties, but the alliteration is just too good), where you only rise if you know the right people. For some reason, they seem to think that's better.

Yeah. The best way to give people a chance of social mobility is to have systems in place that let people have a roughly equal start off. So places like the Scandinavian countries where there’s high quality and cheap childcare and preschools for example do OK. Give everyone access to a decent start off, a decent healthcare system and decent education in a country with fair and transparent laws.
After that, you can’t enforce it, because people are different. People will reach different heights, people want different things, have different capabilities and they will raise their families as they see fit. You can’t enforce equality from the back end without dragging people down. You can only have a fair start and a system that’s not crooked, and let people do what they will. Socialism just drags everyone down to the same level of mediocrity.

The easiest way to get wage increases, of course, is to make labor relatively scarce, as in limiting immigration. Cesar Chavez knew this and sent goon squads to the Mexican border to beat the shit out of anyone trying to cross illegally to work on Californian farms.
