Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

As early as April I stopped paying attention to all the statistics. At that point I realized the numbers, curves, and what not had transmuted from "facts" to tea leaves and totemic fetishes. When it was revealed that any of the case numbers and fatalities were just made up (even the New York Times admitting this), I realized none of the numbers could be trusted; and if the numbers could be manipulated at all, they could be manipulated in such a way that serves the ruling class (in other words, UP UP and UP!)

Simply put, we're living in a pagan, shamanistic society hiding behind science so-called. You'll notice that the people who notice the scam the most are the ones least attached to the System. Therefore, a recent doctoral graduate, heavily indebted, pro-LGBTQ feminist Disney fanatic like my cousin is militant about VirusRegime while I am... Not. Serious Catholics have been screwed over by our own bishops and Pope, told to Livestream Easter Sunday in a condescending tone not unlike "Eat the bugs, goy."

This post is rambly, but I guess one bit of encouragement I can give you all is that just because your leaders, friends, family and neighbors believe lies doesn't mean you have to as well. And when I go to Mass I remember you in my intentions.

Right at the beginning, Joe Rogan mentions exactly what a lot of us are thinking and even mentions a friend who was covid positive that he recommended hydroxychloroquin to. He mentioned that democrats are against it and won’t take it. So it seems corona chan is a silver lining in that idiotic liberals are more likely to die from it. “Trust the science” they say, unless orange man says something. How hilarious would it be if fucking Joe Rogan gets a real conversation on hydroxychloroquin.

Controversial opinion time! Here we don't have to wear masks outdoors, only in shops. I don't see what the problem is, other than your face probably gets a bit warm and sweaty or your glasses fog up a bit. Make a list, get in the shop with your mask on, grab the stuff on the list as quickly as possible, don't browse because if it isn't on your list you don't need it anyway, pay for it, leave the shop and take your mask off.
It's the principal, faggot. Also, you know, the whole thing being a farce anyways because cloth coverings are allowed which ain't doing shit aside from illustrating how it's more an exercise in control and obedience, as others said it better in recent posts here.

So, here's the million dollar question to pose. Will there be an actual end to this madness? Is this only going to last until election day (or at the latest, Spring of next year since all the government bodies will recoil in horror at the sharp drops in tax revenue)? Or are we really indefinitely doomed to live in this perpetual authoritarian nightmare?

South Africa gonna South Africa, as they have been since the ANC took over. I can't believe we actually flushed our economies down the toilet to protect people like this.

A truck carrying a large number of Covid-19 samples has been hijacked in South Africa, prompting alarm about the loot posing a biohazard threat to the region.
The incident happened in Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape province, on Monday night. The region’s premier, Oscar Mabuyane, spoke about the incident during his coronavirus media briefing on Tuesday, confirming that a container of Covid-19 specimens intended for a local laboratory has been stolen at gunpoint during a hijacking.

It'll become another flu season. "Go get your vaccine lest the Rona gets you!"

Of course we will probably be ass deep in lawsuits and investigations into the states behavior for years.

End of the standard financial year is my bet, at least to all the lockdown stuff. The economy has crashed to as point I've never, ever seen in my entire life. Tax revenues on the back of that will be plummeting, and when the financial year rolls over, and all the budgets have to be retained and expanded, there won't be any money.

The question is about the lockdowns and mask wearing and all that power-grabbing fearmonger scheming bullshit specifically. I couldn't give less of a shit about the virus itself, it'll become another little factor of the flu cycles and nothing more.

Up here in Anchorage our Mayor used another overly pessimistic study claiming that hospitals would run out of space projected by mid Sept to justify his re-lockdown orders. There has to start being consequences for this junk science that is always wrong in one particular direction.

One restaurant is refusing to shut down, I'm intending to go at least once a week to support them. Kriners, here's the article about it. I hope more follow suit. It's really bad optics for the Mayor to crack down on this business, we'll see how that goes.

Of course the reddit sjw bootlickers are calling for this business to be burnt to the ground for daring to try and stay in business, those monsters! Warning, sickening reddit bs, my apologies for the reddit link.

Off topic Rant: why are subreddits for cities/states always the worst kind of leftist losers that have no bearing to the actual population the subs represent. Lame.

edit: more developing, they were served notice to stop service immediately today. They have refused and intend to stay open. I'm going tomorrow for breakfast.

My suspicion is if Biden wins they'll fast-track one of their pet vaccines, or suddenly find some miracle cure or happen to come across some conveniently unpublished data proving hydroxychloroquine works. If Trump gets a second term it'll be 4 more years of this bullshit.

Hot take: as long as they're practicing social distancing and proper sanitation guidlines i think restaurants should be allowed to reopen at limited capacity. It'll put more money into the economy.

Also, just thought about this @knobslobbin - why is Alaska so worried about this? There's very little travel, I'd imagine, and y'all's population is comparatively small, so I feel like a little bit of 'wear a mask and stand six feet apart, no festivals for a few months' would do y'all just fine?

Probably because the non-lunatics are too busy doing something actually productive with their lives and in their communities to waste their lifespans on Plebbit.

Michigan, USA

No statistics because nothing has changed. Still no spike in deaths, even though we are STILL sending COVID patients to ordinary nursing homes, and Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) recently vetoed a bill that would have changed her policy thereanent.
Detroit casinos have been reopened at very limited capacity, while the northern regions of the state have been pulled back to the same restrictions as the south, whereas they used to be slightly more open.
There were primary elections here today. Results are expected to be delayed owing to the enormous number of absentee ballots.
The public library system is scheduled to resume interlibrary loans on August 10.

The City of Anchorage is about the size of Delaware yet has a smaller population density than such urban states like Indiana or Michigan and literally half the states in the country.
Schools have re-opened in Georgia and people are, as expected, utterly chimping out on Twitter and preparing for the end of times:

The best part of this lunacy is the flu kills far more kids than COVID-19 (which has an utterly miniscule death rate for everyone under 20 and any side effects in children are insanely rare to the point studies aren't sure if they even can be blamed on the virus) every year and every kid with a newborn sibling is liable to LITERALLY MURDER them (along with grandma) by spreading the flu yet no one closes down schools for it.

Some articles from Reason. Personally, have no idea when this stupid shit is going to stop. Even if a 100% effective vaccine was ready tomorrow, am quite sure the various little Hitlers would do their utmost to keep fucking with us. These swine are now literally drunk on power. Should any state go to another bout of all-out house arrest, can easily see widespread civil disobedience, maybe violence. People are losing their fear, and the government/media has lost all credibility.

Seriously, just stop it. Reopen everything. Use masks, distancing, etc. This virus isn't going away. Joining the "regular" flu as something for which yearly immunizations will be urged.

Well, I went out and prepped like the autist I am for the next shutdown and panic buying bullshit. It is only a matter of time before my governor switches us back to full lockdown, given the Philippines and part of Australia switched back to it. I started buying a shitload of books and buying things for different hobbies. At this rate, governments could easily decide an internet blackout to fight fake news and conspiracy theories and Nazis is necessary to combat COVID-19. Insane times we live in.

That will continue until elections force people out. Or people start returning to normal and don't keel over dead revealing the lie.

I'm kind of amazed they haven't gone full authoritarian with the internet and demanded ISPs to block sites that conflict with official narratives. Maybe they're happy with what Facebook, Twitter, and other normie sites have done. They've totally restructured society to "fight" this "threat" and shove propaganda in our face at every possible angle, it's curious how they even allow the internet.

I shouldn't speak too soon since at this rate it's only a matter of time before not wearing a mask in your own car will just as ticketable as driving 100 MPH at night with no headlights and the police will do random checks on your home to see if you're wearing a mask. Wonder what will come first since we're all so intent on emulating the Chinese system with its almost zero cases in months (except for some dumb niggo immigrants who nearly caused another outbreak).
