A-Logging is a term used to describe one expressing disproportionate levels of hatred for Chris, often including wishing him physical harm, usually for perceived "crimes" that Chris is "guilty" of.

To actually add to the discussion, Leafy has kind of been back before the whole Idubbz thing. He‘s made a community post sometime around New Years with overwhelmingly positive response and people asking him to come back, and he’s been on Dramaalert a while back (something with Nikocado) with the same response. He’s still opportunistic for making the idubbbz video, but he could have made any video and people would have been talking about it. And honestly why would he not make those videos now, people are eating them up, and his merch sells out in a day, he’d be stupid to stop.

A-log was trolshielding, your right when you say that but when people talk about A-log they talk about Multiple different things mixed together. what you did was like calling a bag of flour a cake, although flour is a distinctive ingredient in cake we wouldn't call it a cake since multiple ingredients make a cake. From what I saw @Nauseated Courgi doing was pointing that he viewed the hate leafy received as being disproportionate and basically disagreed with you on some points. Over a month later, I make the same comment, this time as an answer to a question, and now it’s suddenly contentious. Trollshielding isn’t a mere ingredient of a-logging, it’s the main part, the intent. Methods of trollshielding differ, but the method Leafy used - attacking a popular target - is the method of a-logs.

It wasn’t just Nauseated Corgi chiming in and it wasn’t just about what defines an a-log. The white knights came riding in defending Leafy, praising his new videos, and trying to shoot down negativity, whether it be claiming criticism of him today is unwarranted, how much better he is than iDubbbz, or how only certain spergs could dislike Leafy. That equates to protecting Leafy.

We should still be laughing at the monkey, but when the monkey’s white knights want to run the place, we’re only allowed to laugh with him.

While that's definitely true, it seems like Leafy 2.0 is less of a piece of shit to people because his style has changed. He clearly cares a lot less now, his style isnt nearly as cringy and uptight as it was in 2016, and his targets are a lot more acceptable to shit on than children. Does this mean hes an angel or his past cringe is redeemed? of course not, but who really cares so long as what he makes is entertaining.

And this is also all true. There are things we can laugh with him for, there are still things we laugh at him for, and there’s scenarios with both. Personally, I find his videos cringe, but he deserves credit for triggering the Pokimane simps.

There was new content to work on. He had returned by then and was putting out new videos. And people still did defend him. The point was even his defenders weren’t arguing against the a-log designation. This is less about his content and more about who he still is as a person. And most people agreed that he built his return off iDubbbz negativity because the people in the thread then are very different from the people in the thread now.

This back and forth started with me answering a question on why Leafy is hated. Everything since then has been a response to defenses of Leafy, some trying to shoot down all criticism of him. I’m not responding to every positive post of him, arguing he deserves no praise. He can be laughed with and at, which applies to a lot of his drama. It doesn’t make sense to act like he’s above criticism just because he’s calling out fellow cows.
