All my transgender friend had to say was that 1) no way did Chris get legit hormones 2) illegal legit hormones are more expensive than legal ones 3) non safe hormones legally boughten are 2X cheaper than legit safe ones. She also said "if, somehow, magically, this person got legit hormones in three months and is having them work THIS well already... I'll eat all my shoes".

I asked her about the process and she said it's different for everyone and the "see a doctor for 3+ years" isn't law as far as she knows but is just a doctors safety net timeframe. Doctors will decide when they think you're ready, there isn't a magic "I've seen you for ____ years now gimme my meds"
A lot of factors come into play. Genetics, age, and health are the big three. We don't really know if his genetics have an aversion to hormones or not, but with how he has treated his body in the past and age, hormones definitely will not do that much for him.

I don't think Chris is actually taking hormones, or at least this picture should not indicate that he is that much. No doubt that his chest is seemingly larger in this picture but there is no actual way a man in his mid-30s would seem breast development from hormones so earlier. Kim also implies that Chris is starting out, hence the "second batch". It is possible that Chris is obtaining hormones over the internet. inhousepharmacy is a mainstream site for MtFs to obtain anti-androgens and estradiol. As much as I want to see Chris go down this hole deeper I think there is a lot more anticipation than actual results as of yet. There is also no change in anything else but seemingly chest development. It would not surprise me if he is wearing a stuffed bra (makeshift or real) to seem as though he is growing breasts.

He just looks fatter to me :P

Then again, maybe the too-tight waistband on the denim skirt just pushed his belly fat up a bit higher, and he tucked it into his sports bra.

Taking hormones that is not medically approved is dangerous as all hell. You never know what kinds of chemicals or added sedatives are in them that could lead to deadly results. Chris should have (if he hasn't) seen a medical professional who would advise him on what safe hormones to take and where he can get them.

I want to believe that Chris, being Chris, just went to Rite-Aid and picked up a bunch of female vitamin supplements thinking they are the equivalent of hormone pills. I really want to. However, since this is also Chris, I must assume that he's doing this in the most haphazard and damaging way possible so he might have actually found some pills somewhere. Either way, shame on Kim for encouraging his newest bout of stupidity.

So what exactly are hormones suppose to do? I'm telling you. He still looks like the same old Christian, just with bad hair and stupid clothes. I don't understand what change is suppose to occur? If anything he just looks more bloated than usual. What do hormones do?

They're supposed to change where fat deposits collect on your body. So if Chris gains 10 pounds, with hormones, those 10 pounds should make his tits fatter than they would if he wasn't taking hormones.

Edit: Or, that's one of the effects. That's what someone in Chris' situation would be aiming for, anyway.

He would look fatter to anyone that has seen the pic though the Facebook post Marvin posted a few pages back gives off the possiblity that Chris may of taken hormones.

As a guess, one would assume the hormones could cause a change in body such as maybe giving Chris breast though he already had man-boobs before taking hormones. If Chris did take hormones, they might just be slow working but as said before, it's just a guess at what hormones can do and I could be very, very wrong.

If he bought girly clothes, he wouldn't be able to afford all those copies of Sonic Boom.
When has "not being able to afford it" ever stopped him from buying something?

Brother, taking hormones without a doctor's oversight is a really bad idea
Here's your chance, Hulkster, to dish out some gossip on who was au naturel and who was bulking up with steroids. I don't think everyone in the 80s had the natural talent to bulk up like a water buffalo without a least a little help.

Estradot-Oestradiol50mcg-8-Patches-Image1-main.jpg

These are the hormones I get. They're patches that come in varying strength (I think 25, 50, 75, 100?), mine are 100 micrograms per patch. In Sweden it takes somewhere between six to twelve months of evaluation to get a prescription.

Patches is the best way for estrogen intake and it's used in most countries, but America might be different.

EDIT: With patches I higly doubt he'll get fake ones, but if he takes pills then all bets are off.

I'm assuming he found a credulous rube to sign off on hormones or he's getting them backalley. I've seen scenarios where shrinks can be way too credulous with things like this. There's not a chance in hell that he would be cleared for this normally, or even afford the pills.

Here's my two cents. Typically in the United States it takes a minimum of three or more months of therapy with a a qualified gender therapist to get a diagnosis of gender identity disorder. At which point you would get a referral to an endocrinologist who will prescribe hormone therapy. Chris is notoriously unwilling to go along with counseling and one of the big red flags gender therapists look out for is an autism diagnosis because so much of what we consider gender is socially conditioned.

I am still learning all about the whole transgender thing in general, and are you saying that having a known autism diagnosis can prevent you from a proper gender identity disorder diagnosis, and by extension hormone therapy? I do know some transgender people who are also autistic (far cry from being considered lolcows, though, they're much too sane). If that is correct, huh, you learn something new every day.

You can't buy hormones over the counter anywhere. There is a black market, but someone would either have had to buy it for Chris or be told about it.

There is a chance they're real. There is more to this story not public yet, and let's just say real black market stuff costs a lot of money that Chris doesn't have.

No not at all. But hormone replacement therapy is serious business and therapists have to be absolutely sure someone is transgender before prescribing them. Autism and depression can have similar symptoms to dysphoria.
