As I have said before numerous times, don't take the bait. The feds and the media will be ready to pounce on anybody right of Pol Pot the moment they try to defend themselves. Stay home and laugh at these idiots. Don't feel bad if they attack the feds, just think about how giddily they'll disarm you, call you a fascist, and destroy your life if the tables were turned. Stay home and do something productive, and if not, fuck it, just play videogames or some shit. Don't bother doing what the glowers want you to do. And people respond. Because of course they do. And when the "mostly peaceful protestors" march out of the city into the county they run into what is essentially an army that is there to kill them. And armies have a habit of taking on a life of their own, and offense is the best defense after all.

That woman has more balls than the entire city combined. (Minus the feds stationed there.)

This is the point in a story where the townspeople are supposed to feel ashamed, seeing the image of the old lady standing against the invaders on her own with no one to help her. But we know there won't be a heartwarming redemption arc in the 3rd act. Because the town is Portland.
