Strictly my personal opinion here but I absolutely fucking hate the SJW idea that it's okay to get someone terminated from their job for what they post on social media. These selfish brain-dead fuckers don't have a clue how devastating it is to be fired from a professional job. The punishment does not fit the crime.

I have a much bigger issue with them thinking it's okay to fire people for behaving like an asshat on social media except when it's themselves or their buddies. Then it becomes a crime against free speech or the gay community or whatever the current pseudo-activist is fighting on Internet for.

that's the average SJW way. minor issues are actually horrible acts that ruin the soul.
SJWs want to kill and oppress people because of opinions and genetics. and yet they think they are different and new, and good.
just like every other group that did the same.
same shit we've seen a thousand times.

Once again Wu is blatantly lying about Jace to get sympathy. The last 3 minutes or so of the video are about Wu, and Jace makes a special guest appearance in the form of a 2 second clip of his car crash freak out with no context or explanation. The entire narrative is "someone wrote that he was on his way to kill me (no mention's that this was the 49th such threat, surprisingly), I got the cops around and once they left he sent me this video". They mention Wu got a restraining order then change topics.

There is a way to contact the CBC about Jace cameo? Seems a pretty scumbag move even from her. One thing is keep going in shitty talks and in conventions, other is using as canon fodder in a a comercial made for a media corp.

Any idea what this bullshit is about?

I've worked for companies who deal with this kind of thing, so what follows is my experience from handling this kind of thing.

Valve will likely not have any information they can release to Wu. Depending on privacy laws, they may not even be able to tell her anything beyond that which is already available to Wu. If the charges are due to her account being compromised Valve will likely follow a process to secure her account.

Wu should file a report with law enforcement, and should report fraudulent charges to her card issuer. All Valve can do right away is to block use of her card on their systems and issue a chargeback to the card. Law enforcement can reach out to Valve for information necessary to locate and prosecute the miscreants. Wu is not Detective Wu. She is not Bat Wu. She should quit being a Twitter twat, and should instead go through normal and sensible channels. But that wouldn't win her persecution points, and I doubt very much she'll even bother involving law enforcement. The problem with reporting stuff to the police is that they file official records and will arrest you if you file false reports. Possibly also another reason why the mountain of harassment received by Wu and Sarkeesian either go unreported or are dismissed as being no serious threat.

I've had my credit card info stolen before. Called up my bank and I instantly had the funds back, as well as a new card number - they said they would investigate and confirm that this was fraud. They did and I never heard anything about it again.

Only the bank is going to be willing or even able to do anything about this. Just shows how naive Wu is if she thinks Steam would dedicate company resources to something like this. And like others have said, they legally can not give her any information about the purchase.

What has happened regarding chargebacks to Steam? I haven't heard anything about this.
Chargebacks as a first response with any sort of business is a big no-no, as from their side you're basically grabbing the cash and running without any explanation. From what I've read over the years, Valve takes a pretty hardline stance on the issue ranging from complete termination of the account to temporary or permanent suspension of purchasing rights on the account, depending on the context.
It would only be a problem for the account that the purchases were made for. I don't think anyone who stole a credit card number would use those funds on an account they were not using. Her account will be safe.
You're probably right I was thinking about the scenario weirdly as in she found the charges through her purchase history instead of her actual CC papers.*yawn*

For her own sake I hope she doesn't issue a chargeback on her side of things. I've seen enough threads on the good old Steam forums to know that can only end in tears.

It's rumored that Jace and Brianna are under court order not to talk about the video legally. Hope, johnny boy isn't defying a judge's order. Contempt of Court is a felony and the fines can get absurd.

Considering that accounts are likely to be killed if the owner is found to be using a stolen credit card, the account owner may not get very much out of this. Also there's no re-sale value for the stolen goods. I don't know how Valve works for people selling stuff, but here's a scenario:

1) Create an account to sell stuff via Steam - acting as a games publisher or using a consumer mechanism that allows things to be sold (used games, mods, etc)
2) Compromise an account with a credit card attached, and buy stuff from that account made in step 1

The effectiveness of this plan depends on the fraudster being able to sell things and being able to get the money out of there before Valve can claw it back. Even if it's possible, the odds of someone actually doing this to Wu seem fairly low. Anyone interested in making money is likely to avoid high profile targets. If Wu's account/card were compromised, then I imagine this is someone doing it to piss her off. I think it's more likely, given Wu's tenuous relationship with honesty, that her account is not entirely accurate. For one, how is that every negative thing that every happens in her life is down to this Gamergate person?

Here Wu is claiming to be receiving death threats, so she reports this to the FBI by tweeting it? No, there are oppression points to be earned on Twitter, and death threats are valuable currency.

That tweet mentions having their phone numbers. Should she pass these to the FBI by actually filing a formal complaint? Nah, that'd be awkward, as making false or overstated claims to law enforcement can end badly.

Wu is all about mob outrage. Commanding an army of angry drones is bread and butter for SJW royalty. The only way she could possibly take the higher ground would be in the company of Nazi paedophiles arguing over who gets first dibs on the kid.
