So I don't know if you've ever been in county, but county isn't nearly as hardcore as a state prison situation. Most people are there for really short stints of time (like the drunk tank), about to be released from incarceration after doing time in a state prison or on their way to another prison. Counties are shitholes for sure, but it's an easy place to earn good time (if you behave you get time knocked off your sentence, and each year you get so many days). You know what doesn't earn you good time though? Clicking up with the race war. Raping random guys to be an alpha chad.

People do hook up but it's usually more about getting access to commissary money or to keep people from bothering them/making nice with a cellmate to pass the time. Your regular county prison isn't going to be Oz, it's going to be more like Diet Oz where people are just waiting things out. People will stick to their own generally but as long as you keep your mouth shut and don't cause any problems you will do okay doing 6 months in county.
