At some point I'm going to have to crack open Canetti's Crowds and Power to do a proper social psychology breakdown of these BLM riots. But in this context, it's important because it reduces both savior and savage to mere bodies. You aren't allowed to examine morality or the soul of the movement or its tactics; you can't examine the question of equality, lest you arrive at wrongthink.

Instead, you must be reduced to mere physicality, dumb actors who believe they are enabling the crowd. True equality is impossible to the intellectual; only physical equality is attainable, and it must be rigidly enforced. The only reason rich white kids are idolizing blacks is because every one of them wants a street creed. There's also the problem of capitalism. If there's a demand, supply happens. If there's supply but no demand, suppliers do what they can to create demand. Women's rights activism was a job for the first ones, the next waves got inspired by them and pursued that career but there wasn't much demand for them later, so they started to push the envelope to continue making money. The only way to fix this problem is to change society so that people work actual jobs for a living and pursue activism in their spare time, but how do you do that?

People take many things for granted in the US but imagine a place where you have to make sure that water can be piped into your home and if so, you need to make sure the ability to produce hot water is possible. You can buy drinking water but being able to shower, wash your clothes and clean all require hot water. Exactly my problem. You can't have a nuanced policy about race, because the edge cases will just rot the whole thing. White is white, and that's that. No need to coddle and coopt brown or yellow people. No need to necessarily exterminate them either, but you always have to keep in mind that they are not you. Hitler saw the Jewish problem quite clearly (though at that time, it was much less hidden by the awash of information and distractions, paradoxically even though we have access to much more information about them, the average person is a lot less aware of it).
