Possibly. The MDE sub was banned ages ago, and Frank Hassle told thousands of people live to go read the megathread on S&T. That may have made Reddit admins say “People are coming onto our site from the advice of someone we dislike to harass someone.” Reddit makes money off of advertising, and they don’t want the site to be seen as a place that allows harassment, regardless of how well deserved it may be. That’s the only other explanation I can think of.

I think the moment Frank Hassle got involved, Boogie managed to make a case to the Reddit admins that S&T was another MDE diaspora sub.

One thing I'm certain of however is this: HaberdasherA will not take this lying down. He's been meticulously curating that sub since 2014, it's literally his life's work. And in one fell swoop Boogie has not only erased the megathread, but over half a decade of documentation of the Sam and Tolki saga, GDQ drama, Narcissa Wright drama and some of RWhiteGoose's best writings.

I mean I think ultimately it's Boogie crying victim so hard at the end of the day that got it shut down one way or another. I thought Haber seemed pretty good about being on top of shit that could be construed as attacking Boogie directly/totally unfounded shit/stuff that could get S&T shut down in general. I guess they could have decided to bypass requiring any specific infraction and just shut the shit down like an executive order.

It's probably overall a good thing for Boogie. The amount of crowd-sourced fact-checking and the megathreads must have been real thorns in his side and there's no real replacement.

yeah, and he will no longer be able to make videos addressing what he would see people talk about on s&t. most of those videos performed much better compared to everything else. he already scrapes the bottom of the barrel for content and the subreddit's ban just made it worse. plus he's still struggling with demonetization of francis videos. it's highly unlikely he will benefit from s&t's ban.
