Alcoholics get violent, almost seizure-like shakes if they go a day without drinking. It's horrible to see. They cannot get their shit together because of the constant need to drink, which either is making them get the shakes when they get sober, or they are obviously just drunk.

I think Dick has stated he is in an open relationship, so I do not believe it is that. It took me awhile to process why Masterson guntguards him though, and I believe the awnswer is simple: they are both addicts/drinking buddies.

Guys who abuse substances tend to stick together, just like sober people gravitate toward one and other. So you got two guys on the troll side of the internet, putting out shows that can be described as "weird", and they both hit the substances pretty hard. It is natural that these two are going to stick together, until one of them places the other in some sort of trouble.

The only difference between Ralph and Masterson is work ethic. Regardless if you like Masterson or not, he can clean up for a few days and put the hours in to be successful while Ralph is unable to do so, and it shows in the disparity between their respective levels of success.
