You Know What Grinds My Gears? - Things that personally piss you off

Every single time I have to interact with the post office.

Today I had to call about a package from two weeks ago that they never delivered or gave us a slip for.

Me: "Hello, I am calling to check if I have a package there? My address is ----"
Postie: "Uhhh, did you receive a notice?"
Me: "If you gave me a notice, why would I be calling to ask if you had my package?"
Postie: "uhmm. I was asking. Did you receive a notice?"
Me: "No."
Postie: "Then how do you know you have a package?"
Me: "I'm asking you if I have a package."
Postie: "Do you have a tracking number?"

Note: This is a rural office that serves about 4,000 households. It's smaller than a McDonalds and far less busy.

Me: "Not at the moment. Please just check."
Postie, literally 15 seconds later: "Uhhmm yes you do have a package from the 30th."

A lack of table manners and people who make unnecessary noises with their mouth.

If you want to torture me for eternity, lock me in a room and play the audio of someone eating with their mouth open under the guise of 'ASMR.'

That's what annoyed me about the It Follows film. I enjoyed it until I heard the sister chewing on her sandwich and I couldn't tune out the sound. She could have at least chewed with her mouth closed.

People at work never call for me, always for my coworkers (and that's a good thing!). But when the same customer calls for them again and again and again, I get just as annoyed as my coworkers do.

My mom is always hesitant to give my dad gum because she says he "chews it like a cow".

I hate the "corporations only care about money" line so goddamn much, it's repeated so fucking often it's just annoying to fucking here. Not to mention it's clearly not always the case, shit like politicizing the fuck out of things like comics or movies are a big no-no to anyone with common sense. The only way it makes sense is if you assume that at least part of the reason for doing it is because they're pushing their ideology of the people involved.

I'm redoing the floors in my house in 90* weather right now with no A/C so if I step out of line of a fan I become a bucket of sweat (Also because Aran fat lol) and the thing that really drives me insane is if I'm bent over and a drop of sweat lands on the inside of my glasses, I have to stop what I'm doing and clean the lens or I'll go absolutely frongstomping mad.

I know these things can be fixed, but after waiting more than a year and after some renovations, the apartment I just moved into has these problems:
  • Hot water for the sinks, but very little hot water for the bath/shower
  • Rusty medicine cabinets
  • Blinds with super tangled cords (luckily, I know this is for sure getting replaced)
  • A dishwasher that looks like this on the inside
    • C5C5B5FC-5CF9-4F61-887D-81B4DF4F2280.jpeg
  • No knobs on the cabinets, which makes everything hard to open (this is getting fixed too)
  • Blue residue left over from when new bathroom tile was put in (if anyone has any tips on removing it, that would be great)
  • Such little water pressure in the shower that very little water actually comes out (this will be looked into though, thankfully)
Again, a lot of these things can be fixed/replaced, but it’s frustrating after waiting so long to still have this much work to do. I’m grateful to have a place to live, but new moves are already stressful, and this stuff is just making me more stressed. I know this stuff seems petty, but I just really needed to vent.

Those inconsiderate morons on the road that either pay no mind to others around them for some reason or seem to not consider that there are others on the road besides them. This fuckwits then often risk the well-being or lives of others by driving like fucking assholes that I kind of doubt will learn anything from what they had just done mere seconds before.
