This is what I detest about the free speech people, the line was always "we need to have an open and honest conversation about these topics."
We have. We had those conversations, there are no more conversations to have about these fundamental topics. Abortion, gay acceptance, transgenderism, religion, there's no new argument to be said or written. Here's the thing: at some point, we need to figure out what is right or wrong, acceptable or unacceptable, good for society or bad for society.
I also think the Conservative cancellation period was better for society. I may have said this before, but what was the worst thing everyone talks about? Saying violent video games and degenerate music is bad for children? Here's something the Gamergate people are not going to like: they were right. Sure it can be moderated like anything else, but if you raise a child on violent media it will fuck them up, just like if you raise them on pornography. I don't know any reasonable person that would argue that. What else, gay people shouldn't marry? Good, fuck them, nobody cares. You should wait until marriage for sex? Yeah, that would actually be better, especially in light of the slut hellscape we are left with now. Can anyone look around now and deny they might have had a point?
I remember they pinned the whole "satanic panic" on the uppity church ladies and evangelical America losing its mind. Fast forward to now, ooooooooh there were actually weird child sex cults going on back then, this wasn't just all cooked up in the mind of mean moms who want to take your gay comic books away.
