I took Economics 101 in college literally so I am a professional well read scholar to answer this question. /sneed

Means a higher paycheck for people who have low wages or part time workers. Also means a higher paycheck for people who are collecting Social Security and also working.

However means less money for the Social Security program though.
Dude, getting paid a lotta money in most places means that Uncle Chang just takes more. I'll never forget the first time I got a paycheck and saw $1500 in taxes taken out for all of this great government work.

I assume Social Security is on its way out anyway. If low income and part-time workers get paid more through this, good, and we don't have to have a "living wage" to do so.

Speaking of, it's been months since I have last heard of this. Did discussion evaporate because COVID-19 and Nigger Lives Don't Matter Because They Riot are a thing now?

progressives are not pleased

this appears to be a ballot for a primary election, and apparently for an area with literally only one candidate anyway on the GOP side so even if it wasn't a closed primary it wouldn't fucking matter
I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to bitch about problems, there's no reason to invent more.

HOW will the GOP attack Kamala's past exactly? Would that mean saying they have a problem with police or could they still bring it up without coming off as "Yeah, we know the police are a problem?"

It will be easy for the Trump campaign to attack Kamala's past. She's an authoritarian; her history proves that.

In an age of COVID and lockdowns, I don't doubt the GOP and the Trump campaign will make Americans mindful of what kind of civil liberties Kamala would have no compunctions about destroying. This is the same woman who wanted to send parents to jail because their children decided to skip school. She has an iron fist.

You can still "back the Blue" and be pro-law and order while also being anti-authoritarian/pro-Constitution.

I mean, it really isn't that much of a stretch to say that Kamala is MORE RACIST than Trump.

Kamala actively spent a decade imprisoning black men and refusing to let them out so she could use them for free labor. She literally tried to block evidence that would potentially exonerate a black man, Kevin Cooper, from being put to death. She imprisoned black parents because their children skipped school.
May I have some links for this?

Trump campaign would do best to paint Kamala as the "worst of both worlds".

The one and only thing that really worries me right now is what sort of hay the democrats and Biden's campaign can make out of Trump's statements about reducing or eliminating the payroll tax. Anything that seems like it might threaten social security tends to get old people very upset, and older folks vote more often and typically vote GOP when they do. We don't need lower turnout for that demographic right now or ever really. So, hopefully, Trump and the GOP will be able to run a successful defense against attacks about this issue.

I feel bad for some of my friends, because they don't suffer from TDS except a mild case, but they are pro-blue for life (if Obama was red they would have opposed him), and some of them legitimately believe that Kamala can push swing voters blue because "she's tough on crime." Well, that's one way to put it alright.

The whole Biden/Harris ticket is the worst of both worlds. I can't think of an ideology even close to as terrible as economically neoliberal and culturally far left.

I don't think it will have much effect. Granted the US is not the UK, but Labour trots out "24 hours to save the NHS!" and "The Tories will sell off NHS!" every election. And what happened last election? They got mollywhopped and had their worst result since WWII.

And Biden's record isn't pristine on it either. There's tons of tape of him on the Senate floor trying to make cuts to social security.

Labour’s problem is their focus on extremely unpopular social issues. And the more they focus on troons, the more they’ll lose racial minorities.

I’m back thinking about unemployment. I’m no longer convinced this is going to be an actual issue, because, well, Republicans hate handouts. I think not extending unemployment will be good for Republican, except perhaps for seats that were barely Republican to begin with. But maybe not, because I think conservative voters want politicians who kick off moochers from welfare.

Most people in my group are like that, have a fondness for the Obama years

Only a few realize how bad current Biden and Kamala are.

And there are some also stuck heavily on the Bernie train like I was in 2016. Then realized how his 2020 version was bad in a different style.

Yeah, I was thinking about it this morning. If you did a blind test on me, showed me Kamala's record, and then asked me to guess Democrat or Republican, I would have probably guessed Republican.

Thanks for the information, my original concerns are somewhat allayed now, but I do still wonder if either Trump or Biden will bring the issue up to attack each other, either in ads or at the debates.
