It's an old habit. Jess used to be more relatable than he is now. When I first discovered Jess, he seemed neurotic and whiny, but in a normal human way that often goes hand in hand with creativity. Jess has become noticeably meaner since then, though.

Depends on if you're the particularly strict sort of Futurama/autism/Futurama autism-induced sort of irony police or not. The particularly strict ones basically say that irony can only be spoken words used to convey something other than their literal intention. The version every non-sped uses is something that puts a dark or karmic twist on someone's intended actions or beliefs so that things work out to a much different and non-preferred outcome that is, similarly, often the opposite of what they hoped for.
So yes, by normal people irony definition, Jess screeching that cops are evil and rioters are good and then getting robbed by a bunch of large dudes jogging through her neighborhood and being faced with calling the cops would be quite ironic.

All it takes is one horrible incident to make a person completely change their tune. I don't wish violence on anyone ( unless they're a child molester), but I've seen plenty of people go from the most bleeding of bleeding hearts to signing up for the 4th reich after being on the receiving end of some cultural enrichment.

The old saying was 'a conservative is a liberal who got mugged'. Nowadays though many people seem to feel they can't even be upset or want justice for a crime perpetrated against them, especially if it's by a minority.
Certainly Jess would protest and claim transphobia and plead mental illness should she ever actually get arrested, like all troons.

What is with Mal and Labelle both openly making these posts about wanting/needing/being in love with other people while supposedly married? And I don't mean I care about why they make these posts, because polyamory, catfishing pateron bucks and so forth I get that.
But I mean "why" more in the sense that why would they publicly humiliate and insult the person they supposedly love like this?
This is supposed to be the person you're closest to (since both Labelle and Mal seem to hate their family's for various unverified and ever changing reasons), the person you love the most and this is how you treat them in front of your audience.
But don't worry, the real reason you have no friends must be because you're trans.

Generally what happens is these people just overclock their doublethink when it happens to them. They shamelessly call the police and demand immediate satisfaction and resolution, while then immediately going back to calling for defunding the police and defending criminals. They're simply so used to being insincere and speaking in bad faith that they don't even notice the contradictions.
It's interesting how many bad artists are deeply invested in their identities as artists to the point that it's the main, if not sole, anchor of their entire sense of self. I think it's largely to keep themselves from noticing that they don't have anything else in their lives and never bothered to develop a personality (or at least a pleasant one) outside of "I'm an artist."

The funny part is the Jess didn’t want her comics to be trans only. She vented frequently about being a trans minstrel show. But then she got attention for tranny bullshit and there’s nothing more that she loves than attention.
Shen will cuck out if he even acknowledges her and Jess will cry the chuds are harassing her.
