I've listened to the Dick Show for years and I don't know if I can keep listening. It can be funny, but after hearing that shit come out of Dick's mouth and the people he keeps as hangers-on, I don't know. It just makes the entire experience uttrly soured.

The criticism of the RCC isn't "all priests are pedos" or even "priests are more likely to be pedos." It's that when they were, until fairly recently, the RCC would hide them from the authorities, transfer them from parish to parish endlessly, and threaten or pay off families to cover it up rather than taking it to the authorities. So when there was a predatory priest, they effectively acted as a dating service for that guy, unwittingly or otherwise, by just sending them to a new parish, not warning them of the priest's predatory behavior, and not even keeping them away from children in the future. Part of this was naivete about the issue and not understanding the nature of predatory pedophiles, and treating it as sin rather than crime. Part of it was face-saving.

Not sure why we're even talking about the RCC though. As bad as this was and as long as they dragged their heels about it, they seem to be finally at least acting in good faith to knock this shit off.
