Just a little normal defense of piracy

Then out of nowhere talks about Vic

The guy unironically thinks that the TCPA is the endgame. I would be surprised if he knows the appeals existed. Just like ThatStrugglerBro. In fact, just like him, he's also gas lighting his followers into passive attacks.

Tina is the only stable one in this whole charade.

BT with his disgusting epic shilling along those very small VAs are sufficient reason to never subscribe to Funi nor Crunchy nor any other service like those, one of the pros of being in the EU zone, not having to deal with them as they're quite small here anyway. Still, never used Kissanime and while I read about it these days, was sure it would come back quite soon and it already did, so LOL good job there!
Talking once again like anime fans are only americans...please Thotmore&everyone else just shut the hell up! EU was quite bigger as a market for anime back in the days and is still quite big now, most of the time we even get correct subs in our languages and in some cases even very good dub versions, so screw Funi&whatever else that says they're the best&only option at "supporting the makers" as we all know they clearly don't! :smug:

Funi can eat a dick. There is not a single pirate in the history of the world who has been convinced to stop by wailing, moaning, complaining, cajoling, preaching, threatening, or any of this other piss weak bullshit. Nobody cares. People will pay for a decent service. They will not pay for the shit sandwich Funi/CR are offering no matter how much you insult them.

Funi's subs are just as bad too btw, literal professionals who work on fansubs called them out to be garbage at times.
TF's even going in here?

I know, that's why often when I'm forced to dl their rips from Erai or HS I have to change stuff if my language is present (still so many typos in both my lang and US somehow, guess they can't be asked to do a good job anyway), otherwise I just don't care or wait for a fansub here to pick that series up, which happens more often than not at this point.
Yup, don't really have any idea about TF was those tweets down there. °°

More like "a dumb nigger and a soyboy shills that will do anything for clout", BT&Daniel.
Funi+Crunchy aren't doing well and Crunchy is actually trying to be sold to 1kk last I've read about it, so an official YT channel hosting anime for free is only going to damage them further&beyond, not that I'm expecting two dumb NPCs to get such a simple matter like this: why would anyone pay to get a butchered translation of a "official licensed anime" if the original JP publisher has it free on YT with actually correct subs with no dumb propaganda and shitty people to work on it like with Funi&Crunchy? :story:

Apparently, this might have something to do with this.

Mangaka Ken Akamatsu was recently summoned to speak before the Japanese House of Councilors on the subject of manga’s continued survival over the course of the next ten years.

The summons prompted the Love Hina and UQ Holder creator to praise the welcoming environment offered by Japan’s artistic freedom while also cautioning against a culture where Japanese works are “regulated by foreign standards.”

On June 29th, Akamatsu explained on his personal Twitter page that while “Compared to other countries, Japan’s forte is its freedom of creativity”, the trend of “foreign platforms becoming more and more dominant” poses a threat to the medium’s continued existence.

I wonder who he could possibly be talking about.

Also Americans should be ashamed and disgusted a country like Japan can look at the United States and our plague of cancerous SJWs, and conclude, disgracefully correctly, that they enjoy greater freedom there than they can expect in America.

When Japan sells its art here, vandals, like that cunt Jamie Marchi, vandalize and mutilate them before the public gets to see them.

Absolutely pig disgusting.

Any chance the industry just crashes, burns, and dies? I get the feeling that once someone/something gets through a major crisis, I can just look at future crises and say "they'll survive pretty much anything".

The anime dubbing industry did survive the Great Recession, which roughly coincided with the 2000's anime boom finally going bust and leading the opening wave of "weeb shaming" and the general trend of shitting on anime and its fans in the 2010's.

A lot of the problems within the anime fan culture in the United States including the decline of anime on Adult Swim (narrowly kept alive by the Toonami revival in 2012) and the dominance of Funimation and Viz can more or less be traced back to that double-whammy way back in the late 2000's and its cascading aftereffects.

We're likely heading to a second anime boom and would already be in one if it were not for the Western companies like Disney, Warner, Patreon, Sony, and Amazon actively going above and beyond to try and suppress anime and prevent a second boom from happening.

As it is, Corona gave the previously invincible Disney a huge black eye and woke fatigue is likely going to be crashing the CalArts plane with no survivors, while capeshit and nostalgia pandering is increasingly becoming played out.

Funimation and Crunchyroll more or less actively compliant in this effort since they are part of Sony and Warner respectively and want to maintain their hold on the industry in North America

Call me paranoid, but I think Kissanime's demise is definitely tied to this wider effort to keep out the competition. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Kisscartoon left up and running while Kissanime was shut down and the usual suspects made a big deal of bragging about it?

Really makes you think, doesn't it?

Knew it, Akamatsu did that awesome speech and only told the actual truth of the matter, so if they want to make us gaijin enjoy their content they know that only they can translate it to us without any bs. :feels:
I always found it funny how people that in the US works in the anime industry seem to have a very big hate for it and its fans, I mean why the fuck are you working there then since the pay isn't high and you clearly don't enjoy working there and likely have much better options anyway? Then they compliment each other anytime they publish a butchered anime/manga like it was some epic feat...I never understood that and don't think I ever will, here in my country this stuff stopped happening way back like in the 2000-2010 and whenever we get something now, at least is faithful to the original work and doesn't contain a single line out of the fat ass of Jamie and her absolutely disgusting ilk. :achievement:

I have actually watch non dub animes with english subtitles. And let me tell you it's ten times better then these English dub VAs, who throw in SJW crap in the work.

Like you be amazed, how much these assholes mess with certain anime plots to make it fit their ideology.

Vic has actually said that you have to change a few things so Americans can understand. We don't talk as formally as Japanese do. But there's a difference between that and just stomping all over the story and adding your SJW crap.

I'm fine with watching subbed. I'll watch Vic's old stuff dubbed but subs from now on for me.

Thing is, Vic means to say that some casual changes aren't the worse to happen. Like some Japanese character saying "dude" or "bro", that's just casual speech thing english speakers usually do.

Now, some anime thot from some harem anime calling you a "dudebro" or an "incel", isn't the change, that's an insertion.

Maybe I missed something, but why do we not like Discotek? Don't they just re-release older stuff which the original distributor isn't interested in anymore?

My tumblr friend/artist Retrosofa works for them doing translation stuff. He's a good man.

I didn't realize Suckcockis and Literal Tool were there
We have a recent Lupin release with a hermaphrodite Nazi villain. They were legitimately contemplating on changing the Japanese script in the subtitles cause it was offensive. They only ended up changing the villain's name which was a pun on the word hermaphrodite. They also decided to include an essay by formerly broken staircase member Justin Sevakis. And some additional linear notes on it. Angel Cop also had a similar lecture attached to it.

The other which I only saw due to the recent Lupin spiel, is they changed the script to Samurai Pizza Cat's sub track due to being offensive. When they got on Crunchyroll they supposedly changed it back.

The fact they have already done this is cause for concern already (as if having ANN staff in the company wasn't enough). Despite boasting about wanting to conserve media they are more than willing to censor.
