Fredrick also tried to push a hardlore libertarian stance, which I stood by with, and allowed non-nude photographs of children. The pedophiles demanded nude pictures, basically everything shy of hardcore child pornography. They would try and cite case law regarding nudism photography, etc. They were never content and went after him all the time trying to get nude photos allowed.

On a long enough timeline, there's three possibilities to "pretending to be retarded":
1: You're actually retarded/believe the shit you pretend to be retarded about and you're trying to cover for it.
2: You're so bad at learning from social cues that you're not retarded, just autistic.
3: You're so terrible at "comedy" that your "jokes" make you seem retarded.
All of this assuming that the person using that excuse doesn't just stop after the first wave of shame and embarrassment at not being able to read the room properly. Which is what a normal person does, thus only needing to use the excuse once per fuckup.

Not even sure that's true. My understanding is that it is in a legal grey area with obscenity, which obviously isn't as serious of a crime as child porn. I think if the government wanted to charge you with this, they would. I vaguely recall them tacking on some kind of charge regarding lolicon to someone else they found doing other pedo type stuff, probably as something to plea down to, just to apply more pressure, or to make sure he would at least be convicted of something.

The problem with lolicons and loli content is that the people supporting it are the most obnoxious people to be around. See Digi, anime fans and 9ch for example. Lolicons are the weeb equivalent to furries. Loud people sharing their degenerate fetish unprovoked and thus, generally causes what ever thread they are involved with to be sidetracked into a discussion of their fetish. Exactly like how this and the ralph threads are now about lolicons rather than the lolcow themselves.
I don't think loli and it's content should be banned nor do I believe it creates child molesters. However, what I do believe is that defending lolicon is an untenable position. Especially if you aren't a lolicon.

Then you have the consumers themselves. I'm sure a lot of them are functional and aren't torture to be around. On the other hand, a lot are autistic assholes who just make you hate them. I think lolicon should be categorically illegal, to the extent it objectively and unequivocally depicts human/ humanoid/ anthropomorphic minors engaged sexual acts. I see no big problem with this, even though there are surely some wrinkles in this view need to ironed out.
That said, you probably can’t outlaw it outright under U.S. law. There is a federal statute that ostensibly prohibits loli, but it would actually have to qualify as obscenity to come within the ambit of the law. And I am not so sure the Supreme Court would keep this law on the books. It’s just too difficult to separate obscene loli from non-obscene loli for practical purposes (if it were up to me, all loli would be categorically obscene),
You could make possessing it illegal for a convicted sex offender, but only because the state is allowed to restrict rights as a term of punishment.
The best thing we can do right now is have law enforcement use loli to profile and catch pedophiles. Like Jersh said, people who consume loli are pedos, and they are the most likely to consume actual CP.
