U.S. Riots of May 2020 over George Floyd and others - ITT: a bunch of faggots butthurt about worthless internet stickers

NYPost's tone seemed to have really changed right as Big Floyd started blowing up. It's been a disappointment. The people who should've stopped all this, and contributed to stopping this, instead spent all their time sucking BLM BBC. They're just as responsible for this fucking mess as antifags and BLM joggers are.

And I was so glad to see that fucking van get knifed last night.

Actually, the drone laws have gotten really severe. Flying them over crowds without a whole lot of certifications, including FAA ground school for pilots, can get you in a world of federal shit. And smart phone controls make them easy to trace.
Do VPNs make that easier to evade?
And considering the other shit happening, I think illegal drones are the least of the federal concern.
They cant even throw stuff at the drones without fear of hitting their bedfellows.

Actually my intuition with this one was hate hoax/insurance set up, but only because Chabad has a very sketchball aspect to it. Now if it starts happening to other Jewish buildings (most of them are concentrated in that same neighborhood in Portland (to the southwest of downtown near OHSU hospital), and one other to the North of downtown) I will change my assessment.

Speaking of hate hoaxes I think this is one too:

Do we still have a Kiwi reporter near the ground?
I would love a look at the areas in a several block radius away from the protest itself.
See what car parking looks like, etc.
Going near the swarm is of course a bad idea, but how concentrated are resources and people?

I will not go near these areas around evening for obvious reasons including I really like my car. But I would be willing to do some recon in daylight hours. What sites do you want to see?

Not an expert, but I don't think drones are controlled over the innurnet. Still, to be on the safe side, one might look at the many fine products of Estes Industries, if one were writing the Floyd-chan manga.

long and short, no. the connection between the drone and the phone is direct, or near as makes no difference, because they form a wifi mesh network with the phone. a lot of the limitations on consumer drone range are down to the range of wifi signals rather than anything else. if you're going to do the drone thing, get one with a dedicated radio controller, like an RC airplane. they operate on a completely different band and have a much longer range.

Im wondering if there is an area where protesters park en masse, and if they do if they have anyone guard the vehicles.
According to the femme reporter who was on the ground last night, she did not notice anything in particular.
If they are just parking in the area, I also wonder how far they are willing to travel from their car.

Also, whats the amount of cars look like in these areas at more normal hours?
What are the odds that a randomly chosen parked car belongs to a civvie?

A lot, possibly the majority, do not drive to these, they take some combination of public transit, walking, and bike. The whole of the east side is very walkable, it's entirely possible for a fit young person to walk from the Lloyd Center area to the Hawthorne district in half an hour or less. I used to walk everywhere in town, it rarely took as much as an hour to get anywhere I wanted to go.

Based on all the protests I have seen over the years in Portland I assumed these worked like those and the only people bringing vehicles were the boomers/moms and the snack van/suppliers.

Street parking is usually hard to find in these areas of Portland.

Others have already covered this but where there's a will there's a way, especially in the world of RF. I'm sure you could do what you're thinking but the nerdliness required + the extra hardware (another phone?) would prohibit pretty much everyone who would do this from doing it since the few who could pull it off don't want to.

All the fancy ones with FPV use RC type radio controllers with multiple channels for video, controls, avionics, etc. WiFi has limited range and too much overhead. Also, touchscreens suck ass for flying.
With some kind of GPS, given the firmware preventing their flying in certain prohibited airspace, no?

For those who wish to mess with these folks it seems a srone would be the answer. Obviously camera drones but no one said you cant put a super soaker on the darn thing and water them up.

1) We are not an autistic illuminati.
2) They are actively on the lookout for drones and target them with lasers when they see them.
3) Like someone else mentioned, FAA will be on your ass real quick, especially if you start weaponizing them, and double especially because the cops/feds are already flying drones over them in Portland and don't want your interference.

Not in Portland and Seattle. When the march is over, they call cars for pickup, sometimes their friends who went home early (after the peaceful speeches) and sometimes from Uber.

The non-Portland road blocking protests, which usually get permits, often have a designated starting and end point where they will park cars together. But they also leave "security" to watch the cars, and they make sure everyone walking back to a car has a buddy with them.
