Tumblr has a weird idea of gender. They basically make it into a synonym for "aesthetic". Men work out and like trucks, women wear dresses and skirts and like flowers. People like Yarrow here think "But wait! I don't like to work out, wear dresses, or trucks so I must not be a boy or a girl. What I actually like is wearing black and Lincoln Park and wearing mascara, so I must be a different third gender that I call Gothgender!". That is all her titles are. "Instead of flowers I like Satan and demons, so I'll make those a gender!" "I'm into cottagecore now, so I'll make cottage core my gender! I'll make up a new word for it!"

It is a real enough phenomenon to be overwhelmingly triggered by specific sounds, but like you said, it is really only a symptom of other disorders like ASD, ADHD, and bad anxiety/panic disorders. The term itself was only coined in 2000, so it's likely a controversial part of diagnostic criteria when included, ymmv.

The issue comes, I think, when you've got teenagers and the forever-immature (like Steph) who sometimes get upset when they hear something inconvenient like a baby crying. It's not debilitating, it's just mildly annoying/upsetting/maybe even irritating.

Until trigger sounds render her actually useless (we know she's just lazy) and scramble her brain for hours on end (and I mean for real, not her play acting where she sits in the car and cries at the window because mommy and daddy yelled,) she's just overreacting.

Hollywood Boulevard huh? With the caveat that of course no one deserves or should be robbed or attacked--at one time I lived very close to Hollywood Boulevard, a couple streets over. When my late husband and I went out to walk the dog in the evenings there were many trans women walking the streets with their pimps several yards behind them. They did their business in driveways in the neighborhood. My point being I suspect any robbery and attacks had less to do with their transness and more to do with their business.

One of the highest contributing factors to violence against transwomen is being a prostitute, and the common cry of "trans people only live until they're 30 years old!" is derived from a study of same-sex attracted transwomen engaged in prostitution in third world countries. Staph, being a straight white woman, is perfectly safe in her cushy first world suburban home, while actual transwomen with actual problems (see: Josie) have to resort to turning tricks in order to get by. wait, she goes out of her way to order the weird cat granny shirts? they sell those from major retailers? i thought they only existed on goodwill discount racks during christmas for unfashionable grannies and hipsters into ironically ugly clothes. admittedly i'm one of the latter freaks (fucking love me a good three wolf moon shirt) but i wouldn't go out of my way to seek out and spend more than 5$ on one.
