Mr. Hommel is the former owner of Rocklin Coin Shop, the business was purchased by Mr. Vickers in September of 2009. Mr. Hommel claims that he only sold the property itself and not the inventory that went along with it, Mr. Hommel claims to have had some kind of side deal where he'd get paid over time the value of the inventory... it's really hard to tell what's true and what's not because Mr. Hommel is a very special individual... but in September of 2010, a year after Mr. Vickers purchased the coin shop from Mr. Hommel, Jason decided to attempt to citizen arrest Mr. Vickers and two other managers of the coin shop (long read but funny) but ended up getting arrested himself when the real police arrived excerpt below: View attachment 1537294

Even if Faith didn't go to her school I bet it's easier for some school teacher type like Marie Valenzuela to put teenage girls at ease than for some blatantly perverted middle-aged man like Dax or Ralph who'd immediately put them on their guard.

The dad himself seems the most sympathetic, but the way he's behaving right now and his behavior in the timeline (most notably stealing the phone of his adult daughter while she slept to do a "trust exercise" instead of just openly conversing with her as the adult anyone her age wants their parents to see them as) indicates to me he is a controlling and overbearing parent who struggled to let faith make age appropriate decisions for herself. Honestly after hearing the phone story, its no surprise faith has been so shut off to her parents and been self destructively pursuing a way to get away from them. I have no doubt he loves her, but he expresses that love in a way that has made her close off to him and seek out unhealthy relationships. This goes double if she actually struggles with depression.
I don't think the phone thing was a big deal. Maybe could have been handled better, but I mean what could he really do. He didn't want to start a fight and scare his daughter off but wanted to make her come back to prevent her from linking back up with Ralph using his resources. Also, it's his phone, not hers. Parents taking a naughty kid's phone is par for the course.
His public reactions so far other than publishing his narrative seem like a step over the line, but I'm not in his position and don't know everything he does.

After listening to Phantom Org read most of the timeline the dad posted, I feel like the whole story got a whole lot sadder.
There aren't any clear good or bad guys anymore IMO. Everyone involved shares a massive portion of the blame and everyone involved has been screwed over by the other parties.
The ex-boyfriend was clearly used by faith for attention while she shit talked him to everyone else and had sex with ralph. But he also was in a pedophilic relationship with her and allowed and encouraged her (by not cutting off contact) to send him child porn.
Ralph is basically no different than the boyfriend other than it being technically legal despite a bigger age gap. According to the dad ralph seemed to have genuinely cared for her (which is really sad TBH) and I don't think he's smart enough to fake that. Oh and he ruined her life for petty revenge because of his tiny ego.

Finally we have faith. The mentally unstable woman who uses retarded men for money and attention to cope with her mental issues and has managed to break the hearts of pretty much everyone who has loved her by now. The woman who refuses to get help but cries suicide whenever her blatant (and quite frankly stupid) manipulation attempts get called out or backfire. Its hard to feel pity for her despite her being in the worst situation of all of them, but its hard to hate her too.
I think I'm done with these degenerates. Everyone involved is too pathetic to find funny anymore. That goes the least for ralph, who's mostly just an idiot who's getting what comes to him, but still its kindof sad.

It's just a side drama in the life of Matt Vickers. I guess it adds more detail on Vicker's life, but he isn't quite a lolcow, he's merely the father of a lolcow. That said I kinda didn't care after reading about the guy.

The only people involved in this drama who face any meaningful liability about paying for Faith's inpatient care are Faith's parents and whatever entity they have a insurance policy with; he can publicly disown or otherwise wash his hands of his daughter on social media all he he wants, but she is no doubt listed on his policy and he probably claimed her as a dependent taxwise as well (the latter can actually matter if lawyers get involved). I imagine most of the cost will be absorbed on the Federal level at taxpayer expense. People with a significant or profound mental illness are often indigent or barely subsisting in near poverty, there is no expectation that they could ever afford the level of care they require and the bill gets passed on to others satisfy.
Faith will require hospitalization again, given that she is only 18 and what I've seen of her family, I think it is a safe bet she has almost no insight into her condition at all and takes no steps towards mitigating the impact her mental health has on her day to day life. Her home life sounded stable and she still acted out in fairly drastic manner, so the instability of living with a substance abuser is going to be an excellent accelerant for this trash fire. Faith is going to require a lot of things to help her manage her illness and Ralph is so incapable of providing any of it that she'd probably be better off alone at this point than under his roof.
This has been a phenomenal story thus far, but I am a moral-fag at my core and so concerns still haunt my Kiwi-conscience. This has all the makings of a good ol' Virginia domestic violence case. Faith is emotionally dysregulated young woman who has a history of sustained manipulative behavior and her partner is a clinically obese substance abuser who also happens to be a felon because he assaulted ("swung on") a female Law Enforcement Officer. To make things even worse, this same obese substance abuser can be/has been/and will continue to be/ provoked through the most inane actions taken by anybody. Imagine packing these two people into a small house that they rarely leave and let that shitbox simmer under a hot Virginia sun.

There's more to this story that hasn't come out yet. The "father"s behaviour has been abnormal from the off, specifically the aborttheretort stuff. It's almost catered to a Kiwi audience and it completely stinks to me. Even if this is Matthew Vickers then throwing his daughter under the bus to online autists for the memes is extremely suspect and does not reflect how real families work. If it is Matt then it hints towards more going on with the Vickers family than he's said up to this point.
