That city had a cop killed in the line of duty recently (before this whole goatfuck started). Not sure if protesting there is a smart idea.

Lmao fawty swishers-n-welfare. Use 9mm or .45.

If its 9mm I suggest:

Smith and Wesson Shield:
Slim and easily concealed. Pretty accurate but I suggest replacing the trigger.

Glock 26:
Small CCW pistol. Wider than the Shield and has less capacity. Better trigger. You may have trouble getting your pinky fully on the grip.

Glock 19:
Medium sized pistol. Harder to conceal but is larger and is big enough to get a good grip. MUCH greater capacity than both.

Springfield EMP:
Small and about the size of a Sheild. Superb trigger and very accurate. Less capacity. The only down side is cost and off market parts.

What makes you think they do?

See, shit like this is what Sovtards and First Amendment Frauditors should be arguing about with their "free man on the land" and "right to travel."
These race traitors are actually infringing on citizens' right to travel every time they pull these stunts. Here's hoping that somebody--ANYBODY--files a lawsuit about this.

suggestions for my first conceal carry gun? im almost ready to get one

yes this is related
Clambering up onto my soapbox.
As a practical matter, you must consider how you will conceal it and what will happen if you fail to do so.
  • If you normally wear outerwear such as jackets, or printed shirts, it can be easier to conceal something. If you wear fewer layers or solid colors, you will print more. What you can conceal in winter might not work so well in summer. So you might love that full size 1911, but it might not love you during the warmer months.
  • What happens if someone sees your gun? Will they compliment you and ask what you're carrying, or scream and call the police? Are printing or accidental display probable cause to be stopped by the police, or even a crime? Even in ostensibly gun-friendly states, the outcome of revealing your gun can be unpredictable.
You didn't mention if you're getting a carry permit. Possessing a firearm within 1000 feet of a school is (generally) a Federal offense, unless you are licensed to do so. This is true even in Constitutional carry states, because the Federal government doesn't follow the Constitution. It's a dumb law and probably not enforced on otherwise innocent violators, but you should get a concealed permit just to be on the safe side.

Those matters aside, "What gun should I get" is an invitation to a religious argument. There's a lot of opinion and a lot of feelings, but few agreed-upon facts. If you try a few representative types, you will get a feel for what you like--platform, size, features, etc. Then you have to decide how much you're willing to spend, recognizing you're also going to need a holster, some training ammo, some defensive ammo, and cleaning supplies. Once you decide on a particular gun, or style of gun, you can buy almost anything online and ship it to your FFL if you live in a free state. (I don't know how it works in occupied states like California.) There's a lot of demand right now so you might end up paying a premium, or you might get a good deal if you happen to fall in love with something no one else likes.
