8-17-2020 Tucson Police File Psychiatric Petition; Tom "Kidnapped" by Jackbooted thugs - C O M M I T T E D

I guess since this is a mental health thing there aren’t any public records to be had? I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking for something like this, what with HIPAA, but surely there’s some kind of log or something that shows where he’s at?

I wouldn’t even know where to begin looking for something like this,

Was a nurse in a psych facility out in Wyoming for a time. HIPAA blocks direct access (they can't just *tell* you he's there if you ask), but you can call up a county or state psych facility and ask to speak to someone by full name.

They'll usually connect you provided that person is not currently unavailable for in-facility reasons; Reasons they will usually provide as the reason they cannot connect you as opposed to just saying the person isn't there.

So basically, if someone wanted, they could cold call all the Tucson area facilities and ask to speak to him and use that to determine where he is.

For how long?

Too long. I worked 12 to 14 hour shifts overnight for the better part of four years, got out as soon as I had the cash to open my bookstore. Being around the profoundly mentally ill in person is different than just observing them from across the internet and really starts to eat at your sanity quick.

The rental company will probably turn on the GPS tracker and send a recovery agent if Tommy is unable to be contacted. He will get charged a recovery fee on top of the late fees. Sucks to be who ever loaned him their credit card.

I was actually surprised he was even able to rent a car. It seems every time I do it's a gauntlet of bureaucratic bullshit. I've gotten used to just setting it up a week or two in advance just to ensure it goes smoothly at the airport car rental place or wherever. Last time it was a huge nightmare just to get them to accept the validity of my main car insurance. It's always something.

Also you can sometimes get them to do a semi open-ended rental period where they won't throw on added fees if you don't bring it back immediately, but just charge you on a day by day basis until you bring it back.

I'm pretty sure Tom is getting slammed with late fees and other shit, though. I guess the lesson here is don't tard out like an absolute spastic and get chucked in a loony bin when you have a vehicle rented.

Nah they'll let it rack up for a week or two first. If they check the GPS and it's obviously just parked somewhere they're not going to think it's been stolen.

that video of the cops picking him up- they're always just too damn gentle with him. I really do dislike police brutality but there is a time and place for everything.

patiently checking in on him really pays off sometimes. you think he'll hop on AMB immediately when he's out?
Ok, I'll take the trashbins and puzzles, but what the heck is AMB? Sounds interesting.

Nobody knows.

NGL I hope this is not the end of Tooter. He's a valuable cow and after such and epic week of milk, him being locked up indefinitely is a bit anticlimactic.
As long as it's for a good cause, like kiddie porn, child molestation, or terrorizing retarded children. He shouldn't be locked up forever due to idle threats unless the US plans on opening pre-Reagan institutions again.

If that's the case; agree. His rape victims, and everyone he's terrorised would then receive some sort of justice.

If he were incarcerated though something like a CP charge would make the news.

So, is he dead or still in the loony bin? Or both?

That's a fascinating question, and not just because he has a rental pickup truck that is racking up fees if he doesn't return it. I don't see him getting released without almost immediately chimping out in public but who knows? I'd assume he hasn't been released yet. Maybe he treated the loony bin personnel to a deranged Tooter rant that actually convinced them he needs fully committed. I'd be pretty amazed if he manages that but the notion of him being too stupid to shut the fuck up and pretend to be normal for a couple days to get out isn't that outlandish.

I hope he doesn't end up like Bulla.

I found this interesting pamphlet about involuntary mental health care in Arizona. Keep in mind it is out of order but not hard to figure out.

From this, I believe we can extrapolate where Tommy is in the process.

He's right about here:

If you are kept in the hospital, you must be evaluated within 72 hours (not counting weekends and holidays) from the time that you are ordered held by the court. After 72 hours, the mental health agency must either:

  • Release you;
  • Transfer you to voluntary status; or
  • File a Petition for Court-Ordered Treatment (you may be kept in the facility until the hearing)
So if this is right, he's been either released, agreed to stay voluntarily, or they've filed a petition to commit him.
